‘Samaritan’ means ‘guard’ He knows He is our guard, for (Ps.121:4) “He who keeps Israel will neither slumber not sleep”. Also (Ps. 127:1) “Unless the Lord guards the city, the guard keeps watch in vain”. Our guard is our Creator.

What are these injuries that have stricken man? These are the disasters of sin… “He brought him to an inn, and took care of him”. The inn is the church that welcomes all people, and does not reject supporting anyone, since Christ calls everyone (Matt.11:28) “Come to Me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest”.
