Contemplation
In regard to appointing new servants for the church: They were sought out from among the congregation. See how the author avoided the unnecessary details, saying directly that they ordained them by praying, that is the meaning of the (xeirotonia): ordainment or ‘laying the hands’. Although Man’s hand is laid on the person nominated, the whole work is done by God, whose hand is the one that touches the ordained, if the conditions of his nomination are soundly followed.
