If you ask a priest “What do you think about the role of the deacons in the
church?”
He will much probably respond “They make us feel as we are in
heaven as I’m praying the mass. They add a lot to the spirituality of the prayers
and the feelings of the priest praying the mass”.
If you ask one of the congregation “What do you think about the role of the
deacons in the church?”
S/he will much probably respond “They are the
glorious image that adding reverence to the place and the prayers. They help us
to visualize how heaven looks like with the cherubim and seraphim and the
heavenly hosts giving reverence and praise to the Lord”.
If you ask heaven “What do you think about the role of the deacons in the
church?”.
Heaven will much probably respond “They make us very happy in
heaven because our Lord is smiling to them and says this is my beloved children
follow them in praising”.
It is a dream became true to have this school starts at ST Mark, considering all
age groups, languages (Arabic, English Coptic), rituals, spirituality of the
different hymns and occasions and finally a school for ladies to learn hymns n
praises in the church. It is the fruit of a lot of prayers of the fathers in the
church.
I encourage you all to join and follow the moto of this school “Praise the Lord
with Knowledge”.

To be ordained as a deacon, kids has to attend the school and get a certificate before they can be ordained.

We will start by Lent and Passion week hymns. The ones who will learn and pray the Psalms with long tune during passion week will be invited by the church priests to a special breakfast during the 50 days. We aim at 100 deacons enrolment.
