1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Yacoub:
There’s a very strong promise recorded in Psalm 50:23 that gives us a key to solving many of our problems. The psalms were written by the Holy Spirit, the evidence for this is that Jesus Himself said “David said by the Holy Spirit” before reciting a psalm; essentially telling us that the psalms have been written by the Holy Spirit.
Why is this important? Because when you receive a promise from a psalm, we know it’s from the Holy Spirit.
The promise in Psalm 50:23 is “to him who orders his way aright” (ie who rectifies his path) “I will show the salvation of God”. Simply, the promise is that if I change my ways to be pleasing to God, then I will see the salvation of God.
What does “salvation of God” mean? His provision, security under His care, miracles such as healing, victory (eg. in a court case). So, by changing our ways to be aright we can see the salvation of God.
How can I make my path aright? Do I have a bad habit? Do I watch wrong things? Is my heart very stubborn and harsh? Am I very lazy in my spiritual duties? Do I bow down before a beloved sin? Should I be modest and apologise for mistakes? Is my heart hard to the point that I reject someone approaching me for reconciliation?
Examine yourself, what should I do to change my ways to be aright and please God?
“To him who orders his way aright (who makes his path correct and right), I will show the salvation of God”. – Ps 50:23 This is a very strong promise, so if we rely on it, we will see many miracles happening in our lives through the salvation of God

2. El Nayrouz Celebration – this Saturday 10 September
The El Nayrouz Celebration is on for Children: Pre-Kindy to Year 4 at 11am on Saturday 10 September!
There will be fun activities, rides, spiritual talk and more.
A combined Coptic New Year service for English and Arabic will be in the Arabic Church from 7pm, Saturday 10 September.
Join us for a very special night. We will have Vespers, English and Arabic Hymns, and a Live Zoom Interview with Tasoni Mariam – widow of Hieromartyr Father Mina Aboud.
3. High School Boys Club – Tonight, Friday 9 September
For Years 7 to 10 Boys. Arncliffe Youth Centre at 7pm.

5. St Mark’s Coptic Mastermind Competition – last chance to register
St Mark’s church will be holding a Coptic Mastermind competition for year 5 and 6 girls and boys this year which will be held on 13th November 2022. This is an excellent opportunity for your child to study the Bible in depth and grow their love for The Word of God. In preparation for the competition, the kids will be grouped into teams of 4 and will be coached over the course of 6 weeks.

6. Conference for families with HG Bishop Raphael

١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية:
يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبونا يعقوب
يوجد في المزمور ٥٠: ٢٣ وعد قوي جداً مسجل وهو بمثابة المفتاح لحل العديد من مشاكلنا. سفر المزامير موحى به من الروح القدس، والدليل على ذلك أن السيد المسيح نفسه قال قبل تلاوة المزمور "قال داود بالروح القدس". مما يؤكد أن المزامير كُتبت بالروح القدس.
وما أهمية هذا الأمر؟ أنه عندما نتلقى وعدًا من المزمور، نعلم أنه من الروح القدس.
إن الوعد في المزمور ٥٠ :٢٣ "المقوم طريقه" (أي الذي يصحح طريقه) "أريه خلاص الله". الوعد ببساطة هو أنني إذا غيرت طرقي حيث تكون مرضية لله، فسأرى خلاص الله.
فماذا يعني "خلاص الله"؟ الرزق، الأمان تحت رعايته، المعجزات مثل الشفاء والنصرة (على سبيل المثال في قضية محكمة). ولذلك، فمن خلال تغيير طرقنا إلى طرق مستقيمة، سنتمكن من رؤية خلاص الله.
كيف يمكنني أن أجعل طريقي مستقيماً؟ هل لدي عادة سيئة؟ هل أشاهد أشياء خاطئة؟ هل قلبي عنيد وقاس جداً؟ هل أنا كسول جداً في واجباتي الروحية؟ هل أنحني أمام خطية محبوبة؟ هل يجب أن اتواضع وأعتذر عن الأخطاء؟ هل قلبي قاس لدرجة أنني أرفض من يحاول التصالح معي؟
اختبر نفسك، ماذا ينبغي أن أفعل لتتغير طرقي إلى طرق مستقيمة ترضي الله؟
"المقوم طريقه" (أي الذي يصحح ويقوّم طريقه) "أريه خلاص الله" مز ٥٠ : ٢٣ هذا وعد قوي جدًا ، فإذا اتكلنا عليه، سنختبر حدوث العديد من المعجزات في حياتنا من خلال خلاص الله.
ولربنا المجد الدائم أبدياً آمين.
