1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father David:
Sometimes we misunderstand the fasting times as a difficult period where we are forced to cut back on nice food and a full stomach.
But our church has always viewed fasting as a time of blessing and spiritual revival.
There’s an important mind set shift that we need to remind ourselves that we don’t "have to" fast, rather we "get to" fast.
Fasting is a great opportunity for us to re-unite with God. If we are drowning from any sin or feeling helpless in the face of any tribulation, then fasting is the key that allows us to strengthen our prayers and re-orient our loyalty to God.
A few years ago, Fr Yacoub spoke to our youth about a 40-day purity challenge which many took very seriously. At the end of that fasting period many miracles took place and by God’s grace many who were drowning in previous temptations were able to overcome them.
When you fast and pray, you will experience the hand of God in remarkable ways. Try it! Take the 40-day purity challenge seriously and see for yourself.
2. Extra Mass during Nativity Fast
Starting from today Friday 2 December, we will have a late mass at 1 -3pm each Friday during the Nativity Fast.
The church wishes you a blessed Nativity fast, full of holiness and a spiritual revival that we really need.
3. Christmas Cookies
Orders for St Mark’s delicious Christmas Cookies are now being taken.

4. Parish Council Election – this Sunday 4 December
The Parish Council Elections will be held this Sunday 4 December 2022 between 8am and 2pm.

5. St Mark’s Lion’s Cup – this Saturday 3 December
The Lion’s Cup Competition is on this Saturday 3 December at the Seymour Shaw Stadium in Miranda. All are welcome on the day to show support and cheer on our teams.
6. St Mark’s Vacation Care – Bookings now open!
Bookings can now be taken for the Summer Holiday Period: 19 December 2022 – 24 January 2023.
Program includes fun filled excursions and incursions.
To enrol, please visit the Vacation Care Office this Sunday 11am – 1pm.

١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية:
يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبونا ديفيد
أحيانًا نسيء فهم أوقات الصوم على أنها فترة صعبة حيث نضطر إلى الامتناع عن تناول الطعام الشهي والمعدة الشبعانة.
لكن كنيستنا دائمآ تعتبر الصوم وقت للبركة والنهضة الروحية.
هناك تحول مهم في طريقة التفكير نحتاج إلى تذكير أنفسنا بأنه لا يتعين علينا "الصوم" ، بل إن"نصل" للصوم.
الصوم هو فرصة عظيمة لنا لكي نتحد مرة أخرى مع الله. إذا كنا نغرق في أي خطية أو نشعر بالعجز أمام أي ضيقة ، فإن الصوم هو المفتاح الذي يسمح لنا بتقوية صلواتنا وإعادة امانتنا مع الله.
قبل بضع سنوات تحدث ابونا يعقوب لشبابنا عن ٤٠ يومًا من تحدي الطهارة، واتخذها الكثيرون على محمل الجد. في نهاية فترة الصوم هذه، حدثت العديد من المعجزات وبنعمة ربنا، تمكن الكثير ممن غرقوا في إغراءات سابقة من التغلب عليها.
عندما تصوم وتصلي ، ستختبر يد الله بطرق رائعة. جربها! تعامل مع تحدي الطهارة لمدة ٤٠ يومًا بجدية ، واحكم بنفسك.
٢.قداس إضافي خلال صوم الميلاد
ابتداءً من اليوم الجمعة ٢ ديسمبر، سيتم إقامة قداس متأخر من ١ – ٣ ظهراً كل جمعة خلال صوم الميلاد
تتمنى لكم الكنيسة صوم ميلاد مملوء بالبركة والقداسة والنهضة الروحية التي نحتاجها جميعاً
