Contemplation [verses 47-58]
The smallest bit of the blessing (the Eucharist) mingles with our whole body and fills us with its powerful effect. Thus, Christ came to be in us and we also abide in Him._
+ Saint Cyril the Great
Christ nourishes His Church with these sacraments, for they strengthen the essence of the spirit. Therefore, the Church seeing this great blessing encourages her children and friends to come together to the Sacrament. … “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him.” (Ps 34:8). In this Sacrament, Christ who is the Body of Christ is not a corporeal, but a spiritual food…This food as recorded by the prophet strengthens our hearts, and this drink makes glad the heart of man (Ps 104:15).
+ Saint Ambrose
