Have you ever wondered what the best production any factory in the world could ever produce? I’ll give you some characteristics of the factory as clues:

The factory: The altar of God, wherever it is
The only worker: The Lord Jesus Christ Himself
Established: Good Thursday, year zero
Production schedule: Day and night, till the end all ages
Materials needed: Bread and wine
Benefit of the product: Salvation, Forgiveness of Sins and Eternal life to those who partake of it

These facts point us toward a profound truth. The Holy Liturgy presents the gifts of the Holy Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. As a “foretaste of His heavenly banquet”, this spiritual factory is actively working in the heart of God, and partaking of it allows there to be an altar in our hearts too.

This is how incredible the Eucharist is, as it unites us with the Church and God by unifying us to the person of Christ, and by joining us to all our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are to live in light of the Eucharist paradoxically with worldly factories, as rather focusing on external materialism, we are to focus on external spiritual realities, with the Holy Sacrifice of the mass being God’s greatest gift for us.

Living as His people, God’s work of transubstantiation is not confined to external components, but is embedded in the hearts, minds and actions of His people. This divine factory is ongoing and dynamic, showing that God’s work is fundamentally relational and internal. St. Paul reminds us: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” ~ Galatians 2:20

This is how sacred the Holy Liturgy is!

3. El-Nayrouz Celebration
10 September.

Join us in celebrating the Coptic new Year: 1742

From 7pm there will be vesper, procession, choir and Agape. Note: prayers and talks will be in Arabic and English.

4. Dardasha – Episode 22 with Fr Mark & Fr Antonios

Dardasha is a colloquial arabic term meaning “general bantar”.

5. Parent seminar
Sunday 14 September

A Coptic Psychiatrist will guide us how to Parent with Wisdom.

Join us at 11am in the Arabic Church.

6. Fundraising Activities

Dear Congregation,

We are pleased to announce that a designated area for fundraising activities has been established outside the kids’ playground. This space is intended to facilitate and organise all church-related fundraising efforts in a managed and efficient manner.

Help us build a musical system for the new gym planned at St Mark’s Church. Koorong has a good number of Christian musical records that are suitable for sport activities. We would like some volunteers to buy and set up this system for us, as it will be a great help.
2. Gym Supervisors [Multiple Roles]

Open, close, and admit the appropriate patrons into the gym. This is needed for security and would be great if you can offer your time, especially if you come with your own children. We are yet to know if there will be specific timeslots allocated for male only and female only training; this will be arranged with the Fathers.

Must be qualified. Guide individuals and groups on safe and effective exercise. Help members use equipment properly, and maintain a motivating environment in our Gym.

8. Church Parking Available

St Mark’s Church is pleased to announce a new parking arrangement to better serve our congregation and community.

We have secured exclusive access to the Arncliffe West Infants School Car Park on Sunday mornings every week.

Location: Arncliffe West Infants School Car Park, Loftus Street
Capacity: Approximately 50 cars
Distance: Only a 5-minute walk from the church

Let’s make good use of this generous opportunity to help ease parking for our neighbours and strengthen our ties with the local community.

Important to note: The carpark will be locked from 1pm on Sundays, so please ensure your cars are removed before this time.

سأعطيك بعض الصفات لهذا المصنع كدلائل:

المصنع: مذبح الله، أينما وُجد
الموظف الوحيد: الرب يسوع المسيح نفسه
تاريخ التأسيس: يوم الخميس العظيم، السنة صفر
جدول الإنتاج: ليلًا ونهارًا، حتى نهاية الدهور
المواد المطلوبة: الخبز والخمر
فائدة المنتج: الخلاص، غفران الخطايا، والحياة الأبدية لمن يشترك فيه

تشير هذه الحقائق إلى حقيقة عميقة. القداس الإلهي يقدّم لنا عطية جسد ودم الرب يسوع المسيح المقدّسين. وكـ”عربون لمذاق الوليمة السماوية”، فإن هذا المصنع الروحي يعمل بنشاط في قلب الله، والمشاركة فيه تجعل من قلوبنا مذابح له أيضًا.

هكذا تكون عظمة سر الإفخارستيا، إذ توحّدنا بالكنيسة وبالله من خلال اتحادنا بشخص المسيح، وتجمعنا مع جميع إخوتنا وأخواتنا في المسيح.

نحن مدعوون أن نحيا في نور سر الإفخارستيا بطريقة متناقضة مع المصانع الأرضية، فبدلًا من التركيز على الماديات الخارجية، نحن مدعوون للتركيز على الحقائق الروحية الخارجية، إذ أن الذبيحة الإلهية في القداس هي أعظم عطية يقدمها الله لنا.

وبينما نحيا كشعبه، فإن عمل الله في التحوّل الجوهري (الاستحالة) لا يقتصر على عناصر خارجية، بل يتعمق في قلوب وعقول وأفعال شعبه. هذا المصنع الإلهي مستمر وديناميكي، ويُظهر أن عمل الله هو في جوهره علاقة داخلية.

ويُذكرنا القديس بولس:

“مع المسيح صُلبت، فأحيا لا أنا، بل المسيح يحيا فيّ. فما أحياه الآن في الجسد، فإنما أحياه في الإيمان، إيمان ابن الله، الذي أحبني وأسلم نفسه لأجلي” — غلاطية ٢: ٢٠

٣. احتفال بعيد النيروز – ١٠ سبتمبر

انضموا إلينا في الاحتفال برأس السنة القبطية: ١٧٤٢ ابتداءً من الساعة ٧ مساءً يوم الأربعاء ١٠ سبتمبر، سيكون هناك صلاة عشية، دورة الشمامسة، تراتيل، ووجبة أغابي.

ملاحظة: ستكون الصلوات والكلمة الروحية باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية.
