God’s Heart for the Poor

We too ought to love the poor. The Scripture emphasis this love for the poor:-

“He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who honour’s Him has mercy on the needy“. Prov 14:31

“He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has given”. Prov 19:17

“He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the needy out of the ash heap, That He may seat him with princes of His people”. Psalms 113:7-8

“He has put down the mighty from their thrones, And exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty“. Luke 1:52-53

God tells us to be open-handed – generous to the poor.

“For I say to you, make friends for yourselves by your money, that on the last day they may receive you into the everlasting home“. Luke16:9
