The church pays attention to the needs of the congregation.

The following activities are offered and encouraged for use to benefit your health – both physical and spiritual.

These activities are suitable for any age:

Balance training sessions run by a talented physiotherapist.
Exercise classes using exercise stretch bands run by an expert trainer every Wednesday.
Water aerobics in a heated pool at St George hospital.
Womens’ exercise class run by a talented trainer.

If you are interested in any of these classes, please speak to Fr Yacoub for details and registration.

Fees for these activities are subsidised by a government grant.

2. EOFY Cornerstone Project Update

2024-2025

This year, progress was real.

Carpark upgrade – complete!
Brand new public bathrooms now open
Improved access and parking for the local community
Cost: $2mil

Meanwhile, the Cornerstone Project Stage 3 has reached a key milestone and with your prayers we will commence the major Cornerstone project very soon. Please see the video attached.
Estimated Cost: $20mil

3. St Wanas Kids Charity – South Sudan – Buy a bed!

4. Lions Den Australia

Lion’s Den Australia is a Coptic-founded, community-focused initiative that began at St. Mark’s Church and has since grown to include men from all churches and the broader community.

It’s a safe space where men can gather, talk, and grow together.

While rooted in faith, Lion’s Den serves all men—offering programs that build skills, promote health, and strengthen wellbeing.

We are looking for the perfect site to focus on initiatives to foster connection, support, and breaking the stigma around men’s mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

5. 2026 Egypt

Mission Youth Trip

Are you or someone you know, aged 17 or older, ready for an extraordinary mission adventure in Egypt?

7. Church Bible Study Competition

Book of 2 Samuel

The church has started a bible study competition for the book of 2 Samuel.

The Arabic version of the Bible study questions is attached.

Also attached is a small booklet by father Tadros Malaty.

Hard copies are available from church.

8. Lion’s Den

Men’s Entertainment Park event

Men are invited to come along and enjoy the most fun-filled Lion’s Den event to date, with Go-Karting, Mini Golf and Arcade games on the menu.

Places are limited so get in quick.

When: Tuesday 29th July, 2025 from 7.00pm – 10.00pm
Where: Entertainment Park – 20/361 Milperra Road, Bankstown Aerodrome
Cost: $50 (super discounted rate)

تهتم الكنيسة اهتمامًا كبيرًا باحتياجات شعبها. تُقدّم الأنشطة التالية وتُشجّع على ممارستها لما فيها من منفعة لصحتكم الجسدية والروحية. هذه الأنشطة مناسبة لجميع الأعمار:

جلسات تدريب التوازن يُقدّمها أخصائية علاج طبيعي موهوبة.
حصص تمارين رياضية باستخدام أشرطة التمدد تقدّمها مدربة خبيرة كل أربعاء.
تمارين رياضية مائية في حمام سباحة مُدفأ في مستشفى سانت جورج.
حصة تمارين رياضية للسيدات تُقدّمها مدربة موهوبة.

إن لاينز دن أستراليا هي مبادرة مجتمعية، أسسها الأقباط، انطلقت من كنيسة القديس مار مرقس، ونمت منذ ذلك الحين لتشمل رجالًا من جميع الكنائس والمجتمع ككل. إنها مساحة آمنة يجتمع فيها الرجال ويتحدثون وينمون معًا.

مع إيمانها الراسخ، تخدم “لاينز دن” جميع الرجال، وتقدم برامج تُنمي المهارات، وتُعزز الصحة، وتُعزز الرفاهية. ينصب تركيزها على التواصل والدعم، وكسر وصمة العار المرتبطة بالصحة العقلية والعاطفية والروحية للرجال.

بدأت الكنيسة مسابقة درس الكتاب لسفر صموئيل الثاني. مرفق نسخة للأسئلة باللغة العربية. مرفق أيضاً كتيب لأبونا تادرس يعقوب ملطي. النسخ الورقية متوفرة في الكنيسة. برجاء تسليم الإجابات لموعد أقصاه 13/ 7/ 2025.
