The Apostles Fast – Many people claim they do not benefit from this fast, although fasting is an important practice that leads to all spiritual virtues.

 

First we must realize that fasting is not just change the type of food, it is only a small part of the purpose of the fast.

 

First we abstain from food for a while which helps us with self control, teaches us patience, also it makes us feel weak, leading us to humility, in turn causing us to cry out to the Lord with deeper prayers.

 

As it is said in Psalm 69:10 “when I wept and chastened my soul with fasting, that became my reproach”.

 

During this period we should fast our thoughts, fast our hearts, fast our eyes from the world desires.

 

By fasting our senses, we can achieve true repentance.

2. A Night with the Saints

Saturday 14th June at 6.30pm.

Join us this Saturday at 6:30 PM for Vespers, followed by the changing of the relics of St Abaskharion, a procession, a short talk, glorification, gifts, and sweets.

 

The second part of the evening will be the heavenly praise of the beautiful Tasbeha with all the deacons and congregation, concluding at 9:00 PM. This will be followed by supper and the cutting of the cake in the hall.

 

Please come and enjoy this beautiful and blessed evening as we celebrate and venerate the lives of the saints.

 

May their prayers and intercessions be with us all.

3. Lion’s Den Australia

 

Lion’s Den Australia is a Coptic-founded, community-focused initiative that began at St. Mark’s Church and has since grown to include men from all churches and the broader community.

 

It’s a safe space where men can gather, talk, and grow together.

 

While rooted in faith, Lion’s Den serves all men—offering programs that build skills, promote health, and strengthen wellbeing.

 

We are looking for the perfect site to focus on initiatives to foster connection, support, and breaking the stigma around men’s mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

 

We welcome any donations. to support our cause. All donations are tax deductible.

5. HG Bishop Yustus to pray the liturgy

Thursday 19th June

 

HG Bishop Yustus will pray the liturgy with us on Thursday 19th June at 8:30am.

 

Following the service, His Grace will join us in the church hall for the congregational gathering and breakfast.

١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية

يقدم رسالة هذا الاسبوع قدس ابونا مايكل

صوم الآباء الرسل

يدعي الكثير من الناس عدم انتفاعهم بهذا الصوم، على الرغم من أن الصوم هو ممارسة هامة تؤدي إلى الفضائل الروحية.

أولاً نحن ننقدع عن الطعام لبعض الوقت الأمر الذي يعلمنا ضبط النفس، والصبر ويشعرنا أيضاً  بضعفنا مما ينتج عنه التواضع والتضرع لله في صلاواتنا

كما يقول المزمور69 :10 “وَأَبْكَيْتُ بِصَوْمٍ نَفْسِي، فَصَارَ ذلِكَ عَارًا عَلَيَّ.

خلال هذه الفترة، ينبغي أن تصوم أفكارنا وقلوبنا وعيوننا عن رغبات العالم

من خلال صوم حواسنا، يمكننا أن نحقق التوبة

٢. الاحتفال بعيد القديس ابسخاريون القليني وقديسي هذا الشهر – غداً السبت 14 يونيو

احضر معنا العشية غداً السبت الموافق 14 يونيو الساعة 6:30م ثم سنقوم بتغير رفات القديس ابسخاريون القليني والزفة وكلمة قصيرة وتمجيد وهدايا وحلوى.

الجزء الثاني من الأمسية سيكونن تسبحة سماوية مع الشمامسة والشعب، على أن تنتهي الساعة 9م. ثم سيعقبها عشاء وتقطيع الكيكة في قاعة الكنيسة.

من فضلك تعال واستمتع بهذه الأمسية الجميلة المباركة ونحن نحتفل ونمجد حياة القديسين. بركة صلاواتهم وشفاعاتهم تكون معنا جميعاً

٣. ندوة للوالدين– إيجاد وقت للأسرة – الأحد 8 يونيو

اشترك مع ابونا جوناثان ونيللي روفائيل يوم الأحد 15 يونيو الساعة 11 ص في الكنيسة العربي ومناقشة موضوع: إيجاد وقت للأسرة

٤. زيارة الأسقف نيافة الأنبا يسطس

سيصلي نيافة أنبا يسطس القداس يوم الخميس 19 يونيو الساعة 8:30م. بعد القداس ، سيجتمع نيافته بشعب الكنيسة في قاعة الكنيسة لتناول وجبة الفطار معهم.

٥. لاينز دن أستراليا

إن لاينز دن أستراليا هي مبادرة مجتمعية، أسسها الأقباط، انطلقت من كنيسة القديس مار مرقس، ونمت منذ ذلك الحين لتشمل رجالًا من جميع الكنائس والمجتمع ككل. إنها مساحة آمنة يجتمع فيها الرجال ويتحدثون وينمون معًا.

مع إيمانها الراسخ، تخدم “لاينز دن” جميع الرجال، وتقدم برامج تُنمي المهارات، وتُعزز الصحة، وتُعزز الرفاهية. ينصب تركيزها على التواصل والدعم، وكسر وصمة العار المرتبطة بالصحة العقلية والعاطفية والروحية للرجال.

٦. إرشادات عن ركن السيارات

يُرجى الانتباه إلى الإرشادات التالية عند ركن سيارتك ومراعاة الجيران

تجنب ركن السيارات بجوار مداخل المنازل أو بجانب زوايا الشارع: تأكد دائماً من عدم سد أي مداخل/مخارج المنازل والامتناع عن الركن بالقرب من زوايا الشارع حيث يتم حجب الرؤية لغيرك من سائقي السيارات والمشاة.

الوصول والمغادرة الهادئة: يُرجى التزام الهدوء على قدر الإمكان عند الوصول إلى الكنيسة وعند مغادرتها. سيساعد هذا الحرص على الاحتفاظ بهدوء وسلام منطقتنا.

عدم الركن في  Broe Avenue: يُرجى الحرص على عدم ركن السيارات في Broe Avenue مما يسبب اختناق مروري وهو أمر خطير.

احترام الأماكن المحجوزة الخاصة بالجيران. قد يضع بعض الجيران صناديق القمامة أو غيرها لحجز أماكن لسياراتهم. ينبغي احترام احتياجاتهم ورغباتهم، يرجى عدم تحريك هذه العلامات وعدم الركن في الأماكن المحجوزة.
