The Book of Acts

 

Following from Fr Augustinos’ post last week, where he ended the post with ‘A good practice during the Apostles fast is that we read the book of Acts together’, I’d like to second Abouna’s invitation and explore here the beauty of this book.

• It is a relevant book to our lives as Christians connected together by the Church of the New Testament.
• It explains the real and significant role of the Holy Spirit in the daily life of a Christian. Some scholars, wisely, call this book ‘The Acts of the Holy Spirit’.
• It is the foundation of the church dogma and rights. It can purify our practices as Christians called by God to live in holiness and care about others in humanity.
• The Holy Spirit guided St Luke to write this book in a very attractive way, to be read as if you were reading a well-written novel.

Looking into my calendar, I found that from today, to the feast of the Apostles there are 28 days, the same number of chapters in the book of Acts. So, let us finish the book of Acts together as a church by reading 1 chapter daily till the feast of the Apostles.

 

I can see the joy of the Holy Spirit filling our hearts as a congregation, if we adopt this practice in unity.

6. St Paul’s Service extended to Friday Night

Dear Church Family,

 

St Paul Service at St Mark’s Church looks after the congregation’s safety. Beginning this week, St. Paul will extend its services to include Friday evening services in addition to our regular Sunday morning services.

 

To help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, please note the following reminders:

1. No High School Teens at Church on Friday night – No High School children are to attend at Church on Friday nights.
2. Noise Consideration after 10:00 PM – We ask everyone to be mindful of noise levels after 10:00 PM out of respect for our neighbours.
3. Safety of Children and Teens – Children should not be alone in isolated or poorly lit areas of the church property. We encourage everyone to stay in well-lit, supervised areas at all times.

The St Paul team will be wearing a blue vest. Please reach out if you need any kind of help at the church.

سفر أعمال الرسل

استكمالًا لما كتبه ابونا أوغسطينوس الأسبوع الماضي، حيث ختم مقالته بقوله: «من الممارسات الجيدة خلال صوم الرسل أن نقرأ سفر أعمال الرسل معًا»، أود أن أؤيد دعوة أبونا وأتأمل هنا في جمال هذا السفر.

* إنه سفر ذو صلة وثيقة بحياتنا كمسيحيين مرتبطين معًا من خلال كنيسة العهد الجديد.

* يوضح الدور الحقيقي والعظيم للروح القدس في الحياة اليومية للمسيحي. ولذلك يطلق بعض العلماء عليه، بحكمة، اسم «أعمال الروح القدس».

* يُعد أساسًا لعقيدة الكنيسة وحقوقها، ويمكنه أن ينقّي ممارساتنا كمسيحيين دعاهم الله إلى أن يعيشوا في القداسة ويهتموا بالآخرين بمحبة وإنسانية.

* لقد أرشد الروح القدس القديس لوقا لكتابة هذا السفر بأسلوب جذاب للغاية، بحيث يُقرأ وكأنك تقرأ رواية مكتوبة بإتقان.

عندما نظرت إلى التقويم، وجدت أن المدة من اليوم وحتى عيد الرسل هي ٢٨ يومًا، وهو نفس عدد إصحاحات سفر أعمال الرسل. لذلك، فلننهِ قراءة سفر أعمال الرسل معًا ككنيسة، بقراءة إصحاح واحد يوميًا حتى عيد الرسل.

أستطيع أن أرى فرح الروح القدس يملأ قلوبنا كجماعة مؤمنين إذا تبنّينا هذه الممارسة بروح الوحدة.

احتفالًا بعيد استشهاد القديس أبسخيرون وجميع قديسي شهر يونيو.

تسبحة سماوية على ضوء الشموع.

9:00 مساءً:

وجبة أغابي وقطع التورتة.

٣. مد خدمة القديس بولس لتشمل مساء يوم الجمعة

أفراد عائلة الكنيسة الأعزاء ،

تهتم خدمة القديس بولس في كنيسة القديس مار مرقس بالحفاظ على سلامة وأمن أفراد الكنيسة. وابتداءً من هذا الأسبوع، ستُوسّع الخدمة نطاق عملها ليشمل مساء يوم الجمعة، بالإضافة إلى خدماتها المعتادة صباح يوم الأحد.

وللمساعدة في توفير بيئة آمنة ومرحّبة للجميع، نرجو ملاحظة النقاط التالية:

1. عدم حضور طلاب المرحلة الثانوية إلى الكنيسة مساء الجمعة

يُرجى عدم حضور طلاب المرحلة الثانوية إلى الكنيسة مساء يوم الجمعة.

2. مراعاة مستوى الضوضاء بعد الساعة 10:00 مساءً

نرجو من الجميع الحرص على خفض مستوى الضوضاء بعد الساعة 10:00 مساءً احترامًا لجيران الكنيسة.

3. سلامة الأطفال والشباب

يجب ألا يتواجد الأطفال بمفردهم في المناطق المعزولة أو ضعيفة الإضاءة في الكنيسة. ونشجّع الجميع على البقاء في الأماكن المضيئة وتحت الإشراف في جميع الأوقات.

سيرتدي أعضاء فريق القديس بولس سترة زرقاء. يُرجى عدم التردد في التواصل معهم إذا كنتم بحاجة إلى أي نوع من المساعدة داخل الكنيسة.

٤. ندوة للوالدين– جلسة أسئلة وأجوبة مع طبيب نفسي قبطي

ندعوكم للانضمام إلينا في تمام الساعة 11:00 صباحًا يوم 21 يونيو في قاعة القديس انبا ونس، حيث سيقوم طبيب نفسي قبطي بالإجابة على أسئلتكم واستفساراتكم المختلفة.

نتطلع إلى حضوركم والاستفادة من هذه الجلسة القيّمة.

 

٥. حملة التبرعات لنهاية السنة المالية (EOFY) – دعم مستقبل كنيسة القديس مار مرقس وأبنائها

مع اقتراب نهاية السنة المالية، ندعو أسرة الكنيسة إلى التفكير بروح الصلاة في دعم النمو والتطوير المستمر لكنيسة القديس مرقس من خلال تقديم تبرع قابل للخصم الضريبي.

بنعمة ربنا وكرم مجتمعنا، استطعنا معًا تحقيق الكثير، بما في ذلك:

✓ تجديد قاعة الكنيسة

✓ إنشاء صالة الألعاب الرياضية (Gym)
