1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Mark:
We all have people in our lives that we wish we could change something in them.
How can we change our children? How can we change our spouse? How can we change our colleagues? How can we change our….
On the tomb of an Anglican bishop, the following words were written:
“When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world.
As I grew older and wiser, I discovered the world would not change, so I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country. But it too seemed immovable.
As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing only my family, those closest to me, but alas, they would have none of it. And now as I lay on my deathbed, I suddenly realize: If I had only changed myself first, then by example, I would have changed my family. From their inspiration and encouragement, I would then have been able to better my country and, who knows, I may have even changed the world.”
Change the toughest person first – yourself, then all will follow. This is Repentance.
2. Feast of the Glorious Cross Vesper – Monday 26th September at 7pm
The evening will have a dedicated prayers for the HSC students and Parents and congregation
The evening will start with Liturgical Vespers Prayers followed by Procession in front of Icons and stations with their gospel readings.
Then there will be a full procession around the church with deacons and HSC students carrying the Large Cross while singing "kyrielayson" in joyful tune.
Then a short talk by one of the fathers.
Then a special petition prayer for HSC students.
A small gift will be given on the night.
All the service will be in both English and Arabic languages.
Please encourage our children to celebrate the tradition of church feasts and feasts of Saints.

3. St Mark’s Families Camp Update
Dear St Mark Families,
We’re so excited to start sharing more information about our November families camp, so whether you’ve made a day visit or overnight booking for the upcoming camp come visit our pop-up desk near the bookshop this coming Sunday the 25th of Sept from 10.30 – 11.45am. We’ll have more details on the camp agenda and will be taking activity bookings on the day.

4. The New Eve Prayer Meeting
The New Eve Prayer meeting for women and girls is on every Wednesday night at 7:30pm in the Kids Church.

"عندما كنت صغيرًا وحرًا ولم يكن لخيالي حدود، حلمت بتغيير العالم.
عندما تقدمت في السن والحكمة، اكتشفت أن العالم لن يتغير، لذلك قصّرت بصري إلى حد ما وقررت التغيير في بلدي فقط. لكنها أيضًا بدت لا تتقلقل.
عندما تقدم بي العمر أكثر، وفي محاولة يائسة أخيرة، قررت التغيير في عائلتي فقط، أولئك الأقرب إليّ، لكن للأسف لم يقبلوا التغيير. والآن وأنا على فراش الموت أدركت فجأة: أنه لو كنت قد غيّرت في نفسي أولاً، كنت بالقدوة، أستطيع ان اغيّر في أسرتي، وبتشجيعهم كنت سأتمكن بعد ذلك من تحسين بلدي، ومن يدري ربما تمكنت من تغيير العالم ".

٢.عشية عيد الصليب المجيد – الاثنين ٢٦ سبتمبر الساعة ٧ مساءً
ستتضمن الأمسية صلوات مكرسة لطلبة الثانوية العامة وأولياء الأمور وشعب الكنيسة
ستبدأ الأمسية بصلوات العشية الليتورجيا ثم يعقبها الزفة امام الايقونات والمحطات بالقراءات الخاصة بها
سيكون هناك زفة كاملة حول الكنيسة مع الشمامسة وطلبة الثانوية العامة حاملين صليب كبير ومرتلين "كيرياليسون" باللحن الفرايحي
ثم كلمة روحية قصيرة من أحد الآباء
ثم تضرعات خاصة لطلبة الثانوية العامة
سيتم أيضاً توزيع هدية صغيرة
ستكون الخدمة باللغتين الإنجليزية والعربية
من فضلكم شجعوا أولادكم على الاحتفال بأعياد الكنيسة وأعياد القديسين

نحن فرحون جدًا للبدء في مشاركة المزيد من المعلومات حول معسكر العائلات في نوفمبر، لذلك سواء قمت بحجز زيارة ليوم واحد أو حجزت مبيت، تفضل بزيارة مكتبنا بالقرب من المكتبة يوم الأحد القادم ٢٥ سبتمبر من ١٠:٣٠ – ١١:٤٥ صباحًا. سيكون لدينا المزيد من التفاصيل حول جدول المعسكر وسنأخذ أيضاً حجوزات الأنشطة.
