1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Elijah:
As Christians we are called to be “perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48. This is a difficult verse to read when we are so full of imperfections! Fr Matthew the Poor instructs that it is by frequency and endurance in prayer that we may be transformed by renewing our minds (Romans 12:2). He says: “The frequency of prayer day and night, let us say twenty or thirty times a day-having every time as much as the Spirit graciously grants in terms of words and love perhaps for five minutes or even for one minute each time, is enough to produce in our minds and hearts, as well as in our manners and character, a fundamental change, hardly perceivable to ourselves, but visible to everyone near us. For the frequent looking up to Christ in prayer impresses in our inner being the invisible image of Christ–that is, His attributes, His exquisite sweetness and the light of His face.”
May the Lord perfect us, transform us and teach us to pray.
2. Friday 19 August the church celebrates the Lordly Feast of Transfiguration
His Grace Bishop Daniel will celebrate the mass with us tomorrow Friday 19 Aug at 8:30-10am. Please note that there will be no late mass at 1pm on Friday as there is no abstaining on this day of the feast.
A blessed feast to all.
3. St Mary Fast 24-Hour Vigil
The final 24-hour vigil will be on Sunday 21st August, starting from 6pm.
Program as follows:
6pm to 6:45pm Vesper/ procession/ glorification no sermon
6:45pm to Monday 2am: The church will be open all night for silent prayer at candlelight the theme " the beauty of St Mary and her purity" focus on our own purity for the deep love of God.
2am to 4:30am Tasbeha
4:30am to 7am Liturgy for the feast of St Mary.
4. Feast of St Mary Liturgies
Liturgies fort the blessed Feast of St Mary will be on Monday 22nd August:
4:30am to 7am
8:30am to 10am
Blessed feast and may the Lord gladden your heart.
5. Church Cleaning Day – this Saturday!
Our next Church cleaning Day is on this Saturday 20 August. 12 – 5pm.
Clear your Saturday this weekend if you can and have a blessed day at St Mark!
6. Appeal to help St AbuSefien Church Fire Victims
Dear Beloved Brothers & Sisters in Christ, The devastating fire that engulfed through St AbuSefien Church in Imbaba has claimed many lives. So many families have lost their loved ones in this terrible incident. St Wanas Charity has been called to assist kids in need. St Wanas aims to run this fundraiser appeal to help the kids that have been affected by loss of their family members and build a facility for the kids to help them find peace & solace.

7. St Mark Families Fellowship Seminar – this Sunday!
Struggling with parental anger and impatience? St Marks English Families Service would like to invite you to a seminar on ‘Striving to be a Calmer Parent’ presented by Jessica George, Counsellor at Exodus Youth Worx.
Jessica will provide tips on how to be less reactive and more responsive towards our children.
The seminar will be held this Sunday 21 August at 11am in the Arabic Church.

8. Youth ‘Coffee Van Service’ an act of kindness through St Wanas Charity
The coffee van service is a new upcoming service that will be an extension of St Wanas Charity. This coffee cart will be a youth community outreach service to provide free coffee to the public. Our purpose is to bring a moment of enjoyment and unity through a simple act of kindness. This will be an opportunity to interact with and serve the public to potentially provide an opportunity for Christ to work in their lives.
We currently have a van but require funding for the van fit outs including a coffee machine, plumbing, electricity and water supplies.
We will be standing outside the English church after the mass again this Sunday, with a square for tap and go donations. Donations will be tax deductible.
9. Grand-Final Soccer Match
Come and support our boys representing Rockdale Raiders in the Grand final for under 15 this Saturday @9:00am
10. Pre-Kindy Soccer (Rockaroos)
Calling 4&5 year old’s to experience soccer with a professional coach in a fun and playful way. Training has just begun on Thursdays at 5-6pm.

يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبونا إيلايجا:
كمسيحيين، نحن مدعوون "كونوا أنتم كاملين كما أن أباكم الذي في السماوات هو كامل." متى ٥:٤٨.
هذه آية يصعب قراءتها ونحن ممتلئون بالعيوب! يرشدنا الأب متى المسكين إلى أنه من خلال التكرار والصبر في الصلاة يمكن أن نتغير بتجديد أذهاننا (رومية١٢:٢). هو يقول:
"تكرار الصلاة ليلا ونهارا، فلنقل عشرين أو ثلاثين مرة في اليوم – حيث نـأخذ كل مرة بقدر ما يمنحه الروح بالنعمة من كلمات ومحبة ربما لمدة خمس دقائق أو حتى لدقيقة واحدة، هذا الأمر يكفي أن ينتج عنه في أذهاننا وقلوبنا، وكذلك في سلوكنا وشخصيتنا، تغييرًا جوهريًا، بالكاد يمكننا نحن إدراكه، ولكنه مرئي لكل من يتعامل معنا. لأن التطلع المتكرر إلى السيد المسيح في الصلاة يطبع في كياننا الداخلي صورة السيد المسيح غير المنظورة – أي صفاته وحلاوته الرائعة ونور وجهه ".
نطلب من الرب أن يمنحنا الكمال ويغيرنا ويعلمنا أن نصلي.
٢.تحتفل الكنيسة يوم الجمعة ١٩ أغسطس بعيد سيدي وهو عيد التجلي
سيحتفل معنا نيافة أنبا دانيال وسيصلي القداس الساعة ٨:٣٠ صباحاً. يُرجى الانتباه أنه لن يُقام قداس الساعة ١ ظهراً يوم الجمعة حيث لن يكون هناك صوم انقطاعي يوم العيد. كل عيد تجلي وأنتم بخير
٣سهرة ٢٤ ساعة للسيدة العذراء
ستقام السهرة الأخيرة التي تستمر لمدة ٢٤ ساعة يوم الأحد الموافق ٢١ أغسطس وستبدأ الساعة ٦ مساءً
البرنامج كما يلي:
٦ – ٦:٤٥ مساءً العشية/ الزفة/ التمجيد بدون عظة
٦:٤٥ – ٢ فجر الاثنين: ستفتح الكنيسة أبوابها طوال الليل للصلاة الصامتة على ضوء الشموع والموضوع " جمال السيدة العذراء وطهارتها" ونركز على طهارتنا من أجل محبتنا العميقة لله

٥.تنظيف الكنيسة
يوم السبت الموافق ٢٠ أغسطس- هو اليوم المحدد لتنظيف الكنيسة من ١٢ – ٥ عصراً
خصص يوم السبت القادم للكنيسة وخذ بركة هذا اليوم بكنيسة القديس مارمرقس
٦.نداء مساعدة ضحايا حريق كنيسة القديس أبو سيفين
الإخوة والأخوات الأعزاء في المسيح، حصدت النار المدمرة التي اجتاحت كنيسة القديس أبو سيفين في إمبابة أرواح الكثيرين. لقد فقدت الكثير من العائلات أحباءها في هذا الحادث المروع. تم نداء مؤسسة الاتبا ونس لمساعدة الأطفال المحتاجين. تهدف مؤسسة الانبا ونس إلى تفعيل هذا النداء لجمع التبرعات لمساعدة الأطفال الذين تأثروا بفقدان أفراد عائلاتهم وبناء منشأة للأطفال لمساعدتهم في العثور على السلام والعزاء.
جميع التبرعات معفاة من الضرائب. اكتب اسمك و’Abusefein’ في خانة ‘Reference’.
٧ندوة خدمة المودة الأسرية – الأحد القادم
هل تعانون من الغضب ونفاد الصبر كوالدين؟
تود خدمة المودة الأسرية للمتحدثين بالإنجليزية في سانت مارك دعوتكم إلى ندوة حول "السعي لتكون اباً أو أماً أكثر هدوءً" تقدمها جيسيكا جورج، المستشارة النفسية في Exodus Youth Worx.
ستقدم جيسيكا نصائح حول كيفية أن نكون أقل تفاعلًا وأكثر استجابة تجاه أطفالنا.
ستُعقد الندوة يوم الأحد٢١ أغسطس الساعة ١١ صباحاً في الكنيسة العربي.

٨لمسة طيبة يقوم بها الشباب من خلال مؤسسة الانبا ونس الخيرية
خدمة عربة القهوة هي خدمة جديدة قادمة ستكون امتدادًا لمؤسسة انبا ونس الخيرية. ستكون عربة القهوة هذه خدمة الشباب للتواصل مع المجتمع تقوم بتقديم قهوة مجانية للجمهور. هدفنا هو توفير لحظة ممتعة وروح الوحدة من خلال لمسة بسيطة طيبة. ستكون هذه فرصة للتفاعل مع المجتمع وخدمته مع توفير فرصة محتملة لعمل السيد المسيح في حياتهم.
لدينا حاليًا عربة ولكننا نحتاج إلى تمويل لتجهيزها بماكينة صنع القهوة والسباكة والكهرباء وإمدادات المياه.
سنقف خارج الكنيسة الإنجليزي بعد القداس لجمع للتبرعات. التبرعات ستكون معفاة من الضرائب.

تعالوا وقوموا بدعم أولادنا الذين يمثلون روكدال ريدرز في الدور النهائي أقل من ١٥ سنة يوم السبت القادم الساعة ٩ صباحاً

ندعو الأطفال سن ٤ و ٥ سنوات لممارسة كرة القدم مع مدرب محترف بطريقة مرحة.
