1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Mark:
“Yes” or “no”.
Abouna Yacoub loves the idea of promises. Promises we learn from the Bible and taking them as rules for us to live by. Let us take this rule from our mother St Mary.
IF I say YES to the Lord when He calls my name. He will say YES to me when I call on His. The more difficult it is for me to say Yes. Then He will say Yes to difficult requests I make.
St Mary agrees to bear the Christ in her womb, a difficult yes. So when she asks Christ to turn the water to wine, even though it wasn’t His time, Of course He can’t refuse.
May we use this promise. Let us say YES to Him, especially when it’s hardest, and watch how He says Yes to even our most difficult requests.
"With her Yes she gave herself unreservedly to God, expressing her readiness to be the handmaid and bondservant of the Lord for Him to do with as He pleased and as He said. A Yes like this can be uttered only by a person whose desires and wishes are completely one with the will of God. This was the Yes of Love”

2. St Mary Fast 24-Hour Vigil
The next 24-hour vigil will be on Monday 15th August for St Mary’s Fast, starting from 6pm Monday to 6pm Tuesday. We need members of the church to keep the church open for 2-hour slots from 6pm Monday to 6pm Tuesday.
Highlights of the 24-hour Vigil: From Tuesday morning 2:30am to 4:30am Tasbeha, 4:30am to 7am Liturgy, 8:30am to 10am Liturgy, 1:0pm to 2:30pm Liturgy.
Please contact Fr Augustinos if you would like to share in the any 2-hour slots of keeping the church open.
3. 3rd ‘Late 1-2:30pm’ Daily Liturgy during St Mary’s Fast
During the St Mary’s Fast, there will be 3 masses prayed daily, weekdays only:
5-7am;
8:30-10am; and
1-2:30pm.
4. Youth ‘Coffee Van Service’ an act of kindness through St Wanas Charity
The coffee van service is a new upcoming service that will be an extension of St Wanas Charity. This coffee cart will be a youth community outreach service to provide free coffee to the public. Our purpose is to bring a moment of enjoyment and unity through a simple act of kindness. This will be an opportunity to interact with and serve the public to potentially provide an opportunity for Christ to work in their lives.
We currently have a van but require funding for the van fit outs including a coffee machine, plumbing, electricity and water supplies.
We will be standing outside the English church after the mass with a square for tap and go donations. Donations will be tax deductible.
5. Semi-Final Soccer Match

6. Church Cleaning Day

10. St Mark Families Fellowship Seminar
Struggling with parental anger and impatience?
St Marks English Families Service would like to invite you to a seminar on ‘Striving to be a Calmer Parent’ presented by Jessica George, Counsellor at Exodus Youth Worx.
Jessica will provide tips on how to be less reactive and more responsive towards our children.
The seminar will be held on next Sunday 21 August at 11am in the Arabic Church.

١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية:
يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبونا
" حاضر" ام "لا"
ابونا يعقوب يحب فكرة الوعود. الوعود التي نتعلمها من الكتاب المقدس ونأخذها كقواعد لنحيا بها. فلنأخذ هذه القاعدة من أمنا السيدة العذراء القديسة مريم.
إذا قلت "حاضر" لربنا عندما ينادي على اسمي. سيقول لي "حاضر" عندما أناديه. كلما كان من الصعب أن أقول "حاضر"، سيقول هو أيضاً "حاضر" للطلبات الصعبة التي أطلبها.
وافقت السيدة العذراء القديسة مريم على حمل السيد المسيح في بطنها، "حاضر" صعبة. لذلك عندما طلبت من السيد المسيح تحويل الماء إلى خمر، حتى لو لم يحن وقته، بالطبع لم يستطع أن يرفض طلبها.
نرجو أن نستخدم هذا الوعد. فلتقل له "حاضر"، خاصة عندما يكون الأمر صعبًا، وشاهد كيف يقول لك "حاضر" حتى لأصعب طلباتك.
[بكلمة "حاضر"، أعطت نفسها بلا تحفظ لله، معبرة عن استعدادها لأن تكون أمة الرب وخادمته ليفعل بها ما يشاء وكما قال. مثل كلمة "حاضر" هذه يمكن أن ينطق بها فقط من اتحدت رغباته وأمنياته تمامًا مع
إرادة الله. كانت هذه كلمة "حاضر" المحبة]

٢.سهرة ٢٤ ساعة للسيدة العذراء
بمناسبة صوم السيدة العذراء، ستقام السهر القادمة التي تستمر لمدة ٢٤ ساعة يوم الاثنين ١٥ أغسطس من ٦ مساءً حتى يوم الثلاثاء ٦ مساءً. نحتاج إلى خدام مسؤولين وشمامسة للحضور لمدة ساعتين حتى نتمكن من فتح الكنيسة بصفة مستمرة من الساعة ٦ مساء الاثنين إلى الساعة ٦ مساء الثلاثاء.
وتتضمن السهرة فجر الثلاثاء من ٢:٣٠ – ٤:٣٠ تسبحة، من ٤:٣٠ – ٧:٠٠ القداس الإلهي، من ٨:٣٠ – ١٠ صباحاً القداس الإلهي الثاني، من ١ ظهراً – ٢:٣٠ ظهراً القداس الإلهي الثالث

٣.قداس إلهي إضافي خلال صوم السيدة العذراء
خلال صوم السيدة العذراء، سيُقام قداس ثالث يومياً من ١ – ٢:٣٠ ظهراً
ملاحظة: سيتم صلاة القداس الثالث خلال أيام العمل فقط
٤.لمسة طيبة يقوم بها الشباب من خلال مؤسسة الانبا ونس الخيرية
خدمة عربة القهوة هي خدمة جديدة قادمة ستكون امتدادًا لمؤسسة انبا ونس الخيرية. ستكون عربة القهوة هذه خدمة الشباب للتواصل مع المجتمع تقوم بتقديم قهوة مجانية للجمهور. هدفنا هو توفير لحظة ممتعة وروح الوحدة من خلال لمسة بسيطة طيبة. ستكون هذه فرصة للتفاعل مع المجتمع وخدمته مع توفير فرصة محتملة لعمل السيد المسيح في حياتهم.
لدينا حاليًا عربة ولكننا نحتاج إلى تمويل لتجهيزها بماكينة صنع القهوة والسباكة والكهرباء وإمدادات المياه.
سنقف خارج الكنيسة الإنجليزي بعد القداس لجمع للتبرعات. التبرعات ستكون معفاة من الضرائب.

٦.يوم تنظيف الكنيسة
الاسبوع القادم- يوم السبت الموافق ٢٠ أغسطس- هو اليوم المحدد لتنظيف الكنيسة من ١٢ – ٥ عصراً
خصص يوم السبت القادم للكنيسة وخذ بركة هذا اليوم بكنيسة القديس مارمرقس

ستقدم جيسيكا نصائح حول كيفية أن نكون أقل تفاعلًا وأكثر استجابة تجاه أطفالنا.
