1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Elijah:
In the book of Romans we read:
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
Romans 8:26-27
About this passage St John Chrysostom writes: “Paul is here describing the spiritual man who has the gift of prayer. He does not inform God as if God were ignorant but intercedes so that we may learn what it is that we should pray for and to ask God to give us things which are pleasing to him.… These prayers are heard, because the man who prays them is doing so “according to the will of God.”
God knows the things we need before we ask Him (Matt 6:8) and does not need us to inform Him of details when we pray. Sometimes we don’t know how to pray, and when we do, don’t know what to say.
These verses are a source of comfort and direction. Comfort because the Spirit intercedes for us and direction in that our prayer should be asking for things that please God.
The very next verse in the passage is a beautiful reminder of the protection those that love the Lord have from the ups and downs of this world:
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28
2. Parent Seminar – Cyber Safety Workshops: Sundays 10 and 17 July
Workshop 1 is coming up. Cyberspace is one of the fastest moving realities around us, we’ve organised a series of workshops to navigate the existing and emerging risks, impact it can have on our children, ways to mitigate risk while staying true to our Christian beliefs.
Workshop 1: A panel of IT specialists and Psychotherapist will uncover the different risks of Cyberspace and the impact it has on children of all ages.
10th of July at 10.45am in the Arabic Church
Workshop 2: Panel of IT Specialists share the best software tools and a step-by-step guide to implement a secure Cyberspace for our families.

يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبوناإيلايجا
نقرأ في رسالة بولس الرسول إلى أهل رومية:
"وكذلك الروح أيضاً يعين ضعفانتا، لأننا لسنا نعلم ما نصلي لأجله كما ينبغي وَلكِنَّ الرُّوحَ نَفْسَهُ يَشْفَعُ فِينَا بِأَنَّاتٍ لاَ يُنْطَقُ بِهَا. وَلكِنَّ الَّذِي يَفْحَصُ الْقُلُوبَ يَعْلَمُ مَا هُوَ اهْتِمَامُ الرُّوحِ، لأنه بحسب مشيئة الله يشفع في القديسين" رومية ٨: ٢٦-٢٧
يكتب القديس يوحنا الذهبي الفم عن هذا الجزء: "إن بولس هنا يصف الإنسان الروحي الذي له موهبة الصلاة. إنه لا يخبر الله كأن الله جاهل، بل يتشفع لنتعلم ما الذي يجب أن نصلي من أجله ونسأل الله أن يعطينا ما يرضيه. … هذه الصلوات مسموعة، لأن الانسان الذي يصليها يصلي "حسب إرادة الله".
الله يعلم الأشياء التي نحتاجها قبل أن نسأله (متى ٦:٨) ولا يحتاج منا أن نبلغه بالتفاصيل عندما نصلي. أحيانًا لا نعرف كيف نصلي، وعندما نصلي، لا نعرف ماذا نقول.
هذه الآيات مصدر راحة وتوجيه. تعزية لأن الروح يشفع لنا ويوجهنا في أن صلاتنا يجب أن تطلب أشياء ترضي الله.
الآية التالية في هذا الجزء هي تذكير جميل بالحماية التي يتمتع بها أولئك الذين يحبون الرب من تقلبات هذا العالم:
"ونحن نعلم أن كل الأشياء تعمل معا للخير للذين يحبون الله الذين هم مدعوون حسب قصده" رومية ٨ :٢٨

يُعد الفضاء الإلكتروني أحد أسرع الحقائق تحركًا من حولنا، فقد نظمنا سلسلة من ورش العمل للتنقل بين المخاطر الحالية والناشئة، والتأثير الذي يمكن أن يحدثه على أطفالنا، وطرق تخفيف المخاطر مع الحفاظ على معتقداتنا المسيحية.
١٠ يوليو – ورشة العمل ١: ستكشف لجنة مكونة من متخصصي تكنولوجيا المعلومات والمعالجين النفسيين عن المخاطر المختلفة للفضاء الإلكتروني وتأثيره على الأطفال من جميع الأعمار.
