1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message for the week by Father Mark:
Has Jesus ever appeared to you? During these holy 50 days we focus on the many appearances of the Risen Lord in Scripture. If you read the scripture accounts, you should find at least 12 times of such appearances. There were probably many more not documented. These eyewitness accounts cannot be denied – one of them was to over 500 people at once.
However, it’s not just His appearances that are significant, it’s also His disappearance that is of significance. Jesus appeared to the two disciples on the Emmaus road but He also disappeared from them. Let’s take a closer look: “Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.”
Saying goodbye is always hard. Jesus didn’t even say goodbye. He just vanished.
Why does Jesus disappear? and more importantly, why at that moment?
That moment was a critical one. He vanished after He took bread, blessed and broke it. Jesus is pointing to the way in which He would always remain and be present among them…in the Eucharist. They may not have realised it, but this was the answer to their request – STAY WITH US. In every Liturgy, He answers this request of STAY WITH US. Saying “I am with you always, even to the end of time”.

Join us this Sunday May 8 for our parents meet and greet event for Sunday School Years 11 and 12, at 10:45 – 12pm @ covered area behind the bookshop.

6. New bins at church
As God continues to bless the growth of our congregation, the more cleaning we need to do around Church.
To help manage our waste, you will notice we have new bins in certain locations around Church.
We want to promote recycling using the yellow bins- where cardboard, and paper go.
We have also brought in Purple bins, which are called return and earn bins, so for every can or bottle with a 10c sign on it that we put in a purple bin, we receive 10c from the council which will go towards St Wanas Charity.
As well as two coffee bins to dispose of the coffee cups and liquid
We need to work together as a community, to teach our children how to care of their house- the house of God and to look after the environment and country we live in. We urge you to please help us, because we can only do this together.
7. Updated Bereavement Announcement for beloved Samir Attalla Fam:
Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple. Ps.65:4.
Beloved Samir is the dear husband of Charlotte Attalla, adored father of Eivett Tadros, Usama Attalla and Ikrami Attalla in Germany. Dearest Father-in-law to Father Markos Tadros, Manal Attalla and Katja Attalla. Loving grandfather of Yostina Atta – wife of Fady Atta. Loving grandfather to Andrew Tadros, Miriam, Philopateer and Heleana Attalla; Raphael, Allegra and Mariella Attalla; and great-grandfather to Lucas Atta.
Late Samir is the cousin of Selim Sammy husband of Jehan Sammy, and cousin of Etedal Gadalla wife of Roshdy Gadalla.
Condolences/Azza will be held at St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church Hall, on Saturday 7th of May, at 5 – 7pm. (Before vespers for St Mark’s Feast).
Funeral will be held at St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church on Tuesday 10th May at 11am.

يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبونا مارك
هل ظهر لك السيد المسيح من قبل؟ نركز خلال الخمسين يوماً المقدسة هذه على الطرق العديدة التي ظهر بها الرب القائم من بين الأموات في الكتاب المقدس. عند قرأة الكتاب المقدس، تجد أن السيد المسيح ظهر ١٢ مرة على الأقل. وربما كان هناك الكثير من الظهور غير الموثق. لا يمكن إنكار هذه الروايات لشهود العيان – أحدها كان لأكثر من ٥٠٠ شخص في وقت واحد.
ومع ذلك، ليس الظهور فقط هو الأمر المهم، بل إن اختفائه أيضًا أمر له أهمية. ظهر يسوع للتلميذين على طريق عمواس لكنه اختفى عنهما أيضًا. فلنلقي نظرة فاحصة: " فلما اتكأ معهما، أخذ خبزاً وبارك وكسر وناولهما، فانفتحت أعينهما وعرفاه ثم اختفى عنهما".
الوداع دائماً امر صعب. ويسوع لم يقل حتى وداعاً. بل اختفى فجأةً.
لماذا يختفي يسوع؟ والأهم من ذلك، لماذا في تلك اللحظة بالذات؟
كانت تلك اللحظة حاسمة. اختفى بعد أن أخذ الخبز وباركه وكسره. يشير يسوع إلى الطريقة التي سيبقى فيها دائمًا ويكون حاضرًا بينهم … في الأفخارستيا. ربما لم يدركوا ذلك، لكن هذا كان الرد على طلبهم – ابق معنا. في كل قداس، يجيب على طلب البقاء معنا. قائلاً "وَهَا أَنَا مَعَكُمْ كُلَّ الأَيَّامِ إِلَى انْقِضَاءِ الدهر"

- صناديق قمامة جديدة
بينما يستمر الله في مباركة نمو شعب الكنيسة، يزداد الاحتياج إلى التنظيف حول الكنيسة.
للمساعدة في إدارة نفاياتنا، ستلاحظ أن لدينا صناديق جديدة في مواقع محددة حول الكنيسة.
نريد تشجيع على إعادة التدوير باستخدام الصناديق الصفراء – حيث يلقى الكرتون والورق.
لقد أحضرنا أيضًا صناديق أرجوانية، والتي تسمى صناديق الإرجاع والكسب، وذلك مقابل كل علبة أو زجاجة عليها علامة 10c يتم وضعها في الصندوق الأرجواني، نتلقى 10c من البلدية وسيتم توجيه العائد إلى مؤسسة أنبا ونس الخيرية.
وكذلك صندوقين للقهوة للتخلص من فناجين القهوة والسوائل
نحتاج إلى العمل معًا كمجتمع، لتعليم أطفالنا كيفية العناية ببيتهم – بيت الله ورعاية البيئة والبلد الذي نعيش فيه. نحثكم على مساعدتنا من فضلكم، لأننا لا نستطيع القيام بذلك الا معاً.

طُوبَى لِلَّذِي تَخْتَارُهُ وَتُقَرِّبُهُ لِيَسْكُنَ فِي دِيَارِكَ. لَنَشْبَعَنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ بَيْتِكَ، قُدْسِ هَيْكَلِكَ."
السيد/ سمير هو زوج السيدة شارلوت عطا لله، ووالد إيفت عطا لله، أسامة عطا لله وإكرامي عطا لله في ألمانيا. وحما ابونا ماركوس تادرس، منال عطا لله وكاتيا عطا لله. وجد كل من يوستينا عطا – زوجة فادي عطا، اندرو تادرس، ميريام، فيلوباتير وهيلانة عطا لله، رفائيل، اليجرا ومارياللا عطا لله، والجد الأكبر للوكاس عطا.
الراحل سمير هو ابن عم كل من سليم سامي زوج جيهان سامي واعتدال جاد لله زوجة رشدي جاد لله
سيُقام العزاء في قاعة كنيسة القديس مارمرقس القبطية الارثوذوكسية مساء يوم السبت الموافق ٧ مايو من ٥ – ٧ مساءً (قبل عشية عيد القديس مارمرقس)
ستُقام صلاة الجناز بكنيسة القديس مارمرقس القبطية الارثوذوكسية يوم الثلاثاء الموافق ١٠ مايو الساعة ١١ صباحاً
الرب ينيح روحه في فردوس النعيم ويمنح السلام والعزاء للعائلة والأصدقاء.
