1.Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Anthony:
Abouna Antonious Ayad was at St Mark’s on Tuesday and said a beautiful story that goes like this:
A saintly priest in Egypt, had a young man in confession that told him that a Doctor at the university was cursing him for a year. The young man never cursed him back but he was annoyed by him.
His confession father told him, “Are we going to complain while we are guilty?”.
The young man was surprised and told his confession father again that he never answered back at him. He never cursed him back.
His confession father told him again , “Are we going to complain while we are guilty?”.
The young man defending himself, told his confession father again, “This doctor has been cursing me for a year and I promise I never answered back”.
His priest told him again, “Are we going to complain while we are guilty? Did you pray for him my son, did you pray for him while he was cursing you?”.
The young man answered “No”.
His priest asked him, “Did he ever stop cursing you during that year?”.
The young man answered “Yes”.
“Did you pray for him then?”, the priest asked.
The young man again answered “No”.
Priest: “Doesn’t Jesus tell us to bless those who curse us and pray for those who spitefully use us and persecute us?”.
How heavenly and focused this sweet priest was. Are we listening to Jesus?
This priest lived the words of Jesus and he calls us all to do the same.
The next time someone upsets us, curses us or persecutes us, may we always remember to first listen to Jesus and pray for them by name.

4. Cornerstone Project – the church is in need of your support
We invite you to participate in a pivotal initiative to build St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church for future generations. We Need Your Support Through Monthly Direct Debits (Tax Deductible). As we aim to secure stable and certain income for these essential projects, we are asking each member of our congregation to consider a monthly commitment to our building fund for the next three years.

يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبونا أنثوني:
قام أبونا أنطونيوس عياد بزيارة كنيسة مارمرقس يوم الثلاثاء وذكر قصة جميلة تقول:
جاء شاب إلى كاهن قديس ليعترف ويشكي له من دكتور في الجامعة يسبه طوال العام. والشاب لم يرد له الإساءة لكن كان يشعر بالضيق.
فقال له أب الاعتراف: "هل سنشتكي ونحن المذنبون؟"
اندهش الشاب ووضح لأب الاعتراف مرة ثانية إنه لم يرد لهذا الدكتور الإساءة ولم يسبه.
فقال له أب الاعتراف مرة ثانية: "هل سنشتكي ونحن المذنبون؟"
بدأ الشاب في الدفاع عن نفسه وقال لأبونا "أن الدكتور له عام وهو يسبني واحلف لك أني لم اسبه ابداً"
فقال له أب الاعتراف مرة ثانية: "هل سنشتكي ونحن المذنبون؟ هل صليت له يا أبني، هل صليت له وهو يسبك؟"
فرد الشاب وقال: "لا"
سأله الكاهن: " هل توقف عن سبك خلال هذا العام"
فأجاب الشاب وقال: "نعم"
هل صليت له في ذلك الحين
قال الشاب: "لا"
قال الكاهن: "الم يطلب منا السيد المسيح أن نبارك لاعنينا ونصلي للذين يسيئون إلينا ويطردوننا؟
لقد عاش الكاهن كلام السيد المسيح ويدعونا جميعاً أن نحيا مثله.
عندما نتعرض للمضايقة أو السب من شخص ما، لعلنا نتذكر دائماً ان نستمع أولاً إلى صوت السيد المسيح ونصلي لهم بالاسم.

٤. مشروع حجر الزاوية – الكنيسة تحتاج إلى دعمكم
ندعوكم للاشتراك في مبادرة محورية لبناء كنيسة القديس مار مرقس القبطية الارثوذوكسية للأجيال القادمة.
نحتاج الى دعمكم من خلال سحب شهري مباشر من حسابك (خاضع للضرائب). وبينما نسعى لضمان دخل محدد وثابت لهذه المشاريع الضرورية، نطلب من كل فرد من شعب الكنيسة أن يضع في اعتباره الالتزام الشهري تجاه ميزانية البناء للثلاثة سنوات القادمة. مرفق وثيقة تشرح مشروع حجر الزاوية وكيفية المساهمة في بناء كنيستنا.
