1.Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Jonathan:
As the Christmas season approaches, it is valuable that we don’t get blinded by the temporary joy of receiving gifts and flashy ornaments, but rather focus on the true gift that is Christ’s birth. We can approach this by comparing ourselves to a young monkey. The young monkey only picks a banana based on its shape and colour; however, he learns that the real joy in the banana is the sweetness and taste of the fruit itself rather than its outward appearance. The holiday season has become minimised to Christmas trees, the gifts underneath the tree, Santa and snowmen. Yet as Christians, the real joy is found within celebrating the incarnation of God and the gift of love He has given to us by visiting us on earth. Rather than the temporary happiness of the Christmas season, it is important we focus on the elements of Christmas that provide us with spiritual fulfilment and genuine joy such as the blessings we gain from fasting, the nativity, and the unity of celebrating Christ’s birth as a community through the hymns and liturgy. So let us be wise and look beyond the appearance of fruit as the little monkey did.

2. Prayer Meeting – every Wednesday
All are welcome to join the weekly prayer meeting in the Arabic Church every Wednesday at 7:00 – 8:30pm.
3. HSC Physics Course starting Wednesday 15 November
HSC Physics course is being offered at the Sunday school building every Wednesday from 6 to 8pm starting on 15th of November 2023.
Tutor: Dr George – has recently been granted a doctorate degree from Wollongong University.
Students that will complete their homework will receive 100MCQ for each module. Also, will receive well developed memory cards.
Mock exams will be arranged.
No fees but if you like, donations against tax receipts will be possible for enrolments.

4. Anba Wanas Library – November Newsletter
We’d like to introduce the attached second issue of the newsletter from Anba Wanas Library. A hard copy is available in the library.

يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس ابونا جوناثان
مع اقتراب موسم عيد الميلاد المجيد، من المهم ألا تعمينا الفرحة المؤقتة المتمثلة في تلقي الهدايا والحلي البراقة، بل نركز بالأحرى على الهدية الحقيقية وهي ميلاد السيد المسيح. يمكننا أن نقارن أنفسنا بقرد صغير. حيث يقوم القرد الصغير باختيار الموزة بناء على شكلها ولونها ولكنه يتعلم أن المتعة الحقيقية في الموز هي حلاوة طعمه كفاكهة وليس مظهره الخارجي.
لقد انحصر موسم الاجازات حول شجرة الكريسماس والهدايا التي توضع تحتها وبابا نويل وسنومان. ولكن كمسيحين فالفرح الحقيقي يوجد في الاحتفال بتجسد الله وهدية الحب التي اعطاها لنا من خلال زيارته للأرض. فبدلاّ من الفرحة المؤقتة بموسم عيد الميلاد، من المهم أن نركز على عناصر عيد الميلاد التي تعطينا الشبع الروحي والفرح الحقيقي مثل بركات الصوم والميلاد ووحدة الاحتفال بميلاد السيد المسيح كجالية من خلال الالحان والقداس. فلنكن حكماء وننظر إلى ما هو اعمق من مجرد مظهر الفاكهة مثلما فعل القرد الصغير.
٢.اجتماع صلاة- كل اربعاء
نرحب بالجميع للاشتراك في اجتماع الصلاة في الكنيسة العربي كل اربعاء من 7 – 8:30
٣.كورس مادة الفيزياء للثانوية العامة يوم الأربعاء 15 نوفمبر
سيتم تقديم كورس مادة الفيزياء في مبنى مدارس الأحد كل اربعاء من 6-8 مساءً ابتداءّ من 15 نوفمبر
المدرس: د. جورج – الذي حصل حديثاّ على درجة الدكتوراة من جامعة وولنجونج.
سيحصل الطالب الذي سيؤدي واجبه على 100MCQ عن كل وحدة. وسيحصل أيضاً على بطاقات تذكرة متطورة
سيتم اعداد امتحانات
لا يوجد رسوم ولكن إذا كنت ترغب يمكنك التبرع والحصول على إيصال ضريبي عند الاشتراك
