Contemplation: “The focus is not on the person who wants or who strives; but on God who shows mercy. If we do not want and do not strive, then God does not come to our assistance. We have to want and to strive so that God will consequently assist us; for if the wrestler sleeps, he loses the victory.” (+ St Jerome)
Personal Reflection: Have you ever thought you weren’t “good enough” for God to care about you? What does it mean to you that God’s mercy is not something we earn, but something He gives freely?
Bible Knowledge Question: What does St. Paul say in response to someone asking if God is unjust?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me even when I fail, and for shaping my life with Your hands. Teach me to trust You when things don’t make sense, and to be soft clay in Your hands—ready to be shaped for Your glory. Let me never be proud like Pharaoh, but humble like those who cry out for Your mercy. Help me show Your love to others, just as You have shown it to me.
