Contemplation (verse 3): This book begins with a bitter portrait of sin and how God does not stand it, being unfitting for His people, whom He desires to be a living icon of Him, the Holy God. Yet, as much as it reveals this dark portrait, it also demonstrates the role of God, who forgives the sins, scatters the darkness, and shines with His divine light upon His people to transform them into a divine, glorious and joyful Church. + Father Tadros Malaty
Personal Reflection: Micah shows us that God isn’t distant. He ‘comes down’ to confront sin and hold His people accountable. What does this tell you about God’s character, and how does knowing that God is actively involved in our world (and in our lives) change the way you view your own choices and actions?
Bible Knowledge Question: According to Micah 1, what two capital cities does the prophet declare God’s judgment against, and what are the primary reasons for this judgment?
Prayer: Dear Lord, reveal to us the true consequences of our sin that we may know the importance to correct our ways
