Contemplation (verse 15)
His strength referred to the Spirit of the Lord; but Samson, himself, was no more than a vessel (that could be either empty or full; and has its own capacity). That is why the grace was commended when Paul the apostle was called “a chosen vessel” (Acts 9: 16).
+ St Augustine
Personal Reflection
Samson’s wedding and the troubles that arose occurred after he ignored the advice of his parents… do I listen to the advice of my parents and elders? How can I learn to be more obedient? Is there anything stopping me?
Bible Knowledge Question
What was the riddle that Samson posed at his wedding, and what was its meaning?
Prayer
Lord help us to be wise in our decisions and not to be rash. Help us to listen to the advice of our parents and elders. Give us the wisdom not to follow after our desires if they are not according to Your will.
