1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Michael:

 

Rejoice always and I say again rejoice as St.Paul tells us. For your heavenly Father has lovingly send His greatest gift – His son Jesus Christ, to become your brother and friend. The one of whom it is written ” I have overcome the world”. He has overcome your world, everything that is causing you trouble and anxiety. There is someone who has come to deal with your situation.
The Father was thinking of you when He sent His Son. Jesus can deal with problems in your small world. Bring them to Him, and He will act. You will be amazed at how He is able to do more than what you asked or understand.
” Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”. Ephesians 3:2

 

2. Nomination of Mr. Anthony (Johnny) Sharkawy as a candidate for Priesthood
Please find the attached document from St Mark Church Council with candidate profile. Voting will be on Sunday 5 February.

3. Low Sensory Liturgy – 5pm, Friday 3 February
For Children and their families who would benefit from a quieter liturgy.
In St Wanas Church with low light, no microphone, soft cymbals and less crowds.

4. Women at the Well – Choose to “Unsubscribe” – Saturday 4 March
Women at the well invite all weary women to a warm evening of fellowship, refreshment and dicussion with Fr. Elijah and Sarah Attala (counsellor)
When: Saturday 4 March at 4 – 8pm

5. Summer reading competition

Attention all K-6 readers!

Drop into the library to pick up the summer reading competition. It comprises of a quiz and Christmas bookmark design/colouring, to be completed in the holidays and returned to the library by 15 February.

Exciting prizes to be awarded in March so make sure to complete your quiz and submit before the deadline. Please see attached files (check the bottom of the email) that can be downloaded and printed at home.

6. The Church needs you !
First cleaning day of the year – lots of work to be done so please join even an hour will make the biggest difference.. fix as you see possible.

 

7. A Function Invitation

Dear Family and friends, I would really appreciate your support by your attendance if possible to this simple dinner on Sunday, 5th of February at 5.30pm at St Mary’s Church, Bexley that I am organising for a new centre for Special needs kids and specifically, orphans with Down Syndrome in Tanta. 8- Bereavement announcement

“Return O my soul to your place of rest for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you (Psalm 116:7)”

After 10 years of health battles, his suffering has now ended. Our precious father, husband and grandfather, Bahaa Riwes Sewiha, departed peacefully to Heaven on 24 January. He was the beloved husband of Lena Fauzy; father of Mina Sewiha, Bishoy Riwes, and Kirollos Sewiha; father-in-law of Eren Sewiha, Mona Sedak, and Marina Sewiha.

The family will be receiving condolences on Saturday 28 January from 7:00 to 8:30pm at St Mark Coptic Orthodox Church (72 Wollongong Road, Arncliffe).

The funeral will take place on Tuesday 31 January at 11:00am at St Mary & St Mina Coptic Orthodox Church (339 Forest Road, Bexley), followed by the burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Leppington.

Request by the family: We are praising God as he welcomes our father to heaven, so please wear white when joining us.

May the Lord grant rest and repose his soul in paradise and grant comfort and peace to us all.
Please pray for the family.

افرح كل حين وأقول أيضاً افرح كما يوصينا القديس بولس. لأن أبوك السماوي بمحبته أرسل لك أعظم عطاياه- ابنه يسوع المسيح، ليكون اخوك وصديقك. هذا الأبن المكتوب عنه ” أنا قد غلبت العالم”. لقد غلب عالمك وكل ما يسبب لك تعب وتوتر. فيوجد من جاء ليتعامل مع وضعك.

كان الآب يفكر فيك عندما أرسل ابنه. يستطيع يسوع المسيح التعامل مع المشاكل التي في عالمك الصغير. ضعها امامه وهو سيتصرف بها. ستندهش من قدرته على القيام بأكثر مما طلبت أو فكرت فيه.

“والقادر أن يفعل فوق كل شيء أكثر جدا مما نطلب أو نفتكر بحسب القوة التي تعمل فينا” افسس ٣:٢٠

للأطفال وعائلاتهم للاستفادة من قداس هادئ.

في كنيسة القديس انبا ونس، قداس يتميز بالإضاءة المنخفضة، بدون ميكروفون وبالعزف الهادئ للدف وبعدد حاضرين أقل.
