Contemplation (verse 24-29)
After confirming to them that he was not presenting to them knowledge of a new god, but a God they worshiped, although they did not know, he started to reveal the features of that God, that He is the Creator of heaven and earth, who does not dwell in temples made by hands, by which he set forth to reveal the foolishness of idol worshipping … Being the source of life, he does not depend on what he granted to mankind to whom He gave life
+ Fr Tadros Malaty
This is the Goodness who enters in everything. In Him we all live; on Him we depend; and we acquire nothing outside Him, but acquire what is God’s, “For no one is good but One, that is God” (Mark 10: 18). That is why, anything good is from God; and everything from God is good.
+ St. Ambrose
Personal Reflection
Do I recognise God in my life, and do I understand what He wants from me?
Bible Knowledge Question
According to Paul in Athens, why is it necessary for all men to repent?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are the Giver of all life, breath and all things. Help me, Lord, to seek You at all times, not relying on idols or the things of this world, but turning my heart fully to You. Help me to recognise You in my life, to give you the things that please not empty praise and sacrifice like idol worshippers gave their fake gods. Amen.
