10 militant criminals attacked Anba Sarabamon in his dwelling in Sudan. One of them pointed a gun into Sayedna’s head. The criminal tried 3 times to shoot but no bullet came out. Sayedna believes that one of the saints stopped the gun from functioning.

There’s a strong relationship between us and the saints. The saints protect, they provide, they help. We are lucky at St Mark’s Church to have Abouna Augustinos who loves the saints. He made us love the saints and made the saints love us.

Lent Detox

 

This Lent, we’re encouraging a Phone Swap / Detox for our children to help them step away from digital distractions and create more space for prayer, reflection, and connection with God.

 

The aim is to support children in developing self-discipline and attentiveness during the fast by reducing reliance on smartphones where possible.

 

If you’d like guidance on how to approach this with your child, please feel free to speak with your confession father.

7. St Mark’s School of Academic Excellence

Lessons will commence on Friday, 13th February for Kindergarten to Year 9.

 

The program has a strong NAPLAN focus for Years 3, 5, 7, and 9, while students in other year levels will engage in curriculum-based lessons aligned with their schooling.

10. Mothers meeting at St. Marks Church

🌸 Our Mothers Meeting and Playgroup have now come together as one special gathering each Tuesday during the school term, from 10–11am in the Teens Shed, beginning Tuesday 10 February.

🌷 Motherhood brings both beautiful moments and real challenges. We’d love you to join us as we explore together what God’s will is for us as mothers, through heartfelt devotionals, encouraging talks and meaningful connection with one another.

🌸 Every mum is warmly welcome—whether you bring your children or come on your own. Simple, engaging activities will be available for the little ones, but please remember that you’ll need to stay with your children at all times. And why not invite a friend to come along too?

Use Drama to show and experience God through participation and action.

 

Faith becomes visible through choices and action, not monologues or watching others.

 

Using NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts) Improvisation and acting techniques through play to learn, children participate on exercises to build confidence, assume characters, lead and/or support each other.

Please note: the car park gates are locked from 1:00pm each Sunday, so be sure to move your car before then.

١. الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية

يقدم رسالة هذا أ لأسبوع – قدس أبونا يعقوب

هاجم عشرة مجرمين مسلحين الأنبا سرابامون في مقر إقامته في السودان. ووجّه أحدهم سلاحه إلى رأس سيدنا، وحاول إطلاق النار ثلاث مرات، لكن لم تخرج أي رصاصة. ويؤمن سيدنا أن أحد القديسين أوقف السلاح عن العمل.

توجد علاقة قوية بيننا وبين القديسين. فالقديسون يحمون، ويعطون، ويساعدون. ونحن محظوظون في كنيسة مار مرقس بوجود أبونا أغسطينوس الذي يحب القديسين، وجعلنا نحب القديسين، وجعل القديسين يحبوننا.

نرجو حضوركم غدا السبت للمشاركة في احتفالنا الشهري بالقديسين.

٢. تغيير فصول مدارس الأحد

• 6:30 مساءً: صلاة عشية، تمجيد، تغيير وتطيب رفات القديس مارمرقس، كلمات روحية قصيرة، فقرات وعروض، وتقديم هدايا
• 7:30 – 9:00 مساءً: تسبحة سماوية على ضوء الشموع
• 9:00 مساءً: أغابي (وجبة محبة) وتقطيع الكيكة

٦. استبدال الهاتف / التخلص من السموم الرقمية خلال الصوم

خلال هذا الصوم، نشجّع على مبادرة استبدال الهاتف / الصوم الرقمي لأطفالنا، لمساعدتهم على الابتعاد عن الملاهي الرقمية وإتاحة مساحة أكبر للصلاة والتأمل والارتباط بالله.

تهدف هذه المبادرة إلى مساعدة الأطفال على تنمية ضبط النفس والانتباه خلال فترة الصوم، من خلال تقليل الاعتماد على الهواتف الذكية قدر الإمكان.

إذا كنتم ترغبون في إرشاد حول كيفية تطبيق ذلك مع أطفالكم، يرجى عدم التردد في التحدث مع أب الاعتراف.

ستبدأ الدروس يوم الجمعة 13 فبراير من مرحلة الحضانة حتى الصف التاسع.

يركّز البرنامج بشكل خاص على NAPLAN لصفوف الثالث والخامس والسابع والتاسع، بينما سيشارك طلاب الصفوف الأخرى في دروس تعليمية متوافقة مع المنهج الدراسي الخاص بمدارسهم.

١٠. اجتماع الأمهات في كنيسة القديس مار مرقس 🌸

تم دمج اجتماع الأمهات مع مجموعة اللعب في اجتماع واحد يُعقد يوم الثلاثاء خلال الفصل الدراسي من الساعة 10 إلى 11 صباحًا في Teen’s Shed، وذلك ابتداءً من الأسبوع القادم، الثلاثاء 10 فبراير.

🌷 إن الأمومة مليئة بالأفراح والتحديات، لذا ندعوكن للانضمام إلينا لنكتشف معًا مشيئة الله لنا كأمهات، من خلال تأملات روحية، ومحاضرات، وفرصة للتواصل مع بعضنا البعض.

🌸 جميع الأمهات مُرحَّب بهن، سواء مع أطفالهن أو بدونهم. سيتم توفير أنشطة بسيطة للأطفال الصغار، مع ضرورة بقاء الأم مع أطفالها طوال الوقت. لا تنسوا إحضار صديقة!

خدمة درامية تعتمد على أساليب الارتجال والتمثيل الخاصة بـ NIDA (المعهد الوطني للفنون المسرحية) من خلال التعلّم من خلال اللعب.

نستخدم الدراما لإظهار الإيمان واختباره عمليًا، حيث يصبح الإيمان واضحًا من خلال الاختيارات والتصرفات وليس بالمونولوجات أو المشاهدة فقط.

من خلال تمارين تفاعلية، يشارك الأطفال في أنشطة تساعدهم على:

• بناء الثقة بالنفس
• تقمّص الشخصيات
• القيادة ودعم الآخرين
