Contemplation (verse 34)
“When the enemy plots in darkness, the Lord works in secret light. While Haman prepared a gallows for the righteous, God was preparing a crown of honour for Mordecai. The king’s sleepless night was no accident, but Providence unfolding quietly, turning danger into deliverance. God allows the wicked to build their own downfall; the trap they set becomes the instrument of their ruin. Esther’s courage and Mordecai’s loyalty were met with God’s perfect justice. At the right moment, the truth was revealed, the righteous were lifted up, and the evil plans of the proud collapsed. Thus, Scripture teaches us that God never forgets a single act of faithfulness, and those who trust in Him will never be put to shame.”

Personal Reflection
These chapters reveal the incredible timing of God. Mordecai’s reward, the king’s insomnia, the uncovering of Haman’s plan — none of it was random. Where in my life do I need to trust God’s timing instead of my own?

Prayer
Lord, You are the defender of the humble and the protector of Your people. Teach us to trust Your timing, even when we feel forgotten or unseen. Give us the courage of Esther, the steadfastness of Mordecai, and the confidence that You are always at work behind the scenes. Protect us from the plans of the enemy, strengthen our faith, and let Your justice shine in our lives. Amen.
