Contemplation
“God brings low the proud, but He exalts the humble. Esther was not lifted up by beauty alone, nor by the will of the king, but by the quiet working of divine providence. Though she lived among a foreign people and was raised in a pagan court, her modesty and obedience shone with the grace of God. The Lord chose what seemed weak to confound the mighty, preparing a deliverer from among the exiles. Thus, even in hiddenness, the faithful are guided by His hand, and in the perfect time He reveals His purpose.”
+ St John Chrysostom
Personal Reflection
Esther didn’t choose her situation — she was placed in the palace through events outside her control. Am I living with the same quiet faithfulness as Esther — loyal to God even when I’m not in a “religious” environment?
Bible Knowledge Question
Why did Esther continue to hide her Jewish identity in the palace?
Prayer
Lord, You see us wherever we are — at home, at school, in joy, in pressure, and in the places where we feel unseen. Give us the faithfulness of Esther: a loyal heart, a humble spirit, and a readiness to follow You in every circumstance. Help us to trust that Your timing is perfect and that You work in our lives even when we cannot see the full picture. Strengthen us to reflect Your light in all places, especially the difficult ones. Amen.
