Contemplation (verse 14:22)
_“This they said, this they showed. But it is purposely so done, not only by the Apostles, but by the disciples also, that they may learn from the very outset both the might of the preaching, and that they must themselves also suffer such things, that they may stand nobly not idly for the miracles, but ready for the trials…the Scriptures nowhere says that they returned rejoicing because they had done miracles but that they are counted worthy for that Name to suffer shame._

Personal Reflection
How resilient and persistent are you to face tribulations with a faithful heart, knowing that in this life we will face hardship to enter the kingdom of Heaven? How will I become prepared to face these challenges?

Bible Knowledge Question
Who stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city? Why did they do this?

Prayer
My Good Father, I pray that whatever I may face in this life, that You shepherd me as Your lost sheep and that You can gift with me the strength and courage to be like Your disciples and persist through tribulations with faith as my shield and my reason, all for the glory of Your name, and to be reunited with You in the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen.
