1. Weekly Spiritual Message

Beloved family,

Each week, during the Holy 50 days, servants from St Mark will highlight the spirituality of one of the saints who were part of the story of the Resurrection.

Holy Book Character: Joseph of Arimathea

Joseph openly declared his love for Christ while He was still hanging on the cross, asking Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus (John 19:38), whilst the twelve (minus St John who was at the foot of the cross and Judas who had hung himself) were still hiding.

It can be said that Joseph became a true and complete disciple before the ten who had forsaken Him. The Disciples had the benefit of living with the Lord for three years. Joseph didn’t.

The Disciples witnessed the Lord’s many miracles firsthand. Joseph didn’t.

The Disciples saw the way the Lord compassionately proclaimed the good news to the poor, liberty to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind and liberty to those who are oppressed (Luke 4:18). Joseph didn’t.

And yet, unlike the Disciples, Joseph courageously associated himself with the Lord at His death. The disciples didn’t.

Dear Congregation,

As we embrace the wisdom of Romans 12:15, “Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep,” we are excited to unveil a new initiative designed to support you in times of loss.

Introducing an 8-week support program, crafted to guide those mourning the loss of a loved one through their journey on earth.

With the Grace of God, we will host two groups each week, offering a welcoming space for all to join one or both sessions.

This is a fresh endeavor, and we eagerly invite your feedback and ideas.

7. Bereavement Announcement

of Beloved Albert Boulos

” I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather ALBERT BOULOS was joyfully received in heaven, Wednesday 30th April 2025.

Albert is the husband of Ragaa Boulos, Father of Odette Zaki and her late husband Refaat Zaki, Amgad Albert and wife Mervat Albert, and Evette Boulos.

Grandfather of Mirette Hanna and her husband Jason Hanna, Martina Youssef and husband John Youssef, Mark Albert and wife Gabrielle Albert, Ramez Zaki and his wife Elizabeth Zaki, Amir Zaki and wife Julie Zaki and Miriam Zaki and husband Luke.

Great Grandfather to Angelina Hanna, Christian Hanna, Josiah Youssef, Joshua Youssef, Matthias Albert, Nathaniel Albert, Zachary Albert, Holly Zaki, Robert Zaki, Olivia Zaki, Audrey Zaki and Adrian Zaki

Condolences will be received at St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church, Arncliffe on Saturday 3rd May 2025 from 7pm – 8:30pm in the Arabic Church starting with vespers.

Funeral Details

When: Tuesday 6th May 2025

Where: St Marks Coptic Orthodox Church, Arncliffe

Time: 11am

Followed by the burial at Rookwood Cemetery then the third day prayer in the church hall.

8. Parking Guidelines –

Please take care of our neighbours

Please take note of the following guidelines when parking your car and take care of our neighbours:

Avoid Parking Near Driveways or Corners: Always ensure that your vehicle does not block any driveways and that you avoid parking too close to corners, which can obstruct the view for other drivers and pedestrians.

Quiet Arrival and Departure: Please be as quiet as possible when arriving and leaving in your vehicles. This consideration will help maintain the tranquillity of our neighbourhood.

No Parking on Broe Avenue: Please observe the specific rule of not parking along Broe Avenue as this creates a traffic bottleneck which is dangerous.

Respect Neighbours’ Reserved Spots: Some neighbours may place bins or other markers to reserve parking spots for their households. Out of respect for their needs and requests, please do not move these markers or park in these reserved spots.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding. Should you have any concerns or require assistance regarding parking, please feel free to contact the church office.

١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية

ايها الأحباء،

كل اسبوع خلال الخمسين المقدسة، سيلقي خدام القديس مارمرقس الضوء على روحانية أحد القديسين الذين كانوا جزء من قصة القيامة.

‎أعلن يوسف علنا عن حبه للسيد المسيح بينما كان لا يزال معلقا على الصليب، وطلب من بيلاطس أن يأخذ جسد يسوع (يوحنا 19:38)، في حين أن الاثني عشر (عدا ‎القديس يوحنا الذي كان تحت الصليب ويهوذا الذي شنق نفسه) كانوا لا يزالون مختبئين. يمكن القول إن يوسف أصبح تلميذا حقيقيا وكاملا أمام العشرة الذين تخلوا عنه. تمتع التلاميذ بالعيش مع الرب لمدة ثلاث سنوات.  لم يتمتع القديس يوسف بتلك الخبرة . شهد التلاميذ معجزات الرب العديدة بشكل مباشر. وهو لم يشاهد. رأى التلاميذ الطريقة التي أعلن بها الرب برحمة الأخبار السارة للفقراء، والحرية للأسرى، واستعادة البصر للمكفوفين والحرية للمضطهدين (لوقا 4: 18). بينما القديس يوسف لم يرى. ومع ذلك، على عكس التلاميذ، ربط يوسف نفسه بشجاعة بالرب عند وفاته. التلاميذ لم يفعلوا ذلك.

يُرجى الانتباه – ينبغي على أولياء الأمور الاشراف على اطفالهم مساء الجمعة حيث أن المهرجان مفنوح للمجتمع العام

٤. نساء عند البئر – الاحتياج إلى العجن

أنتي مدعوة للقاء النساء بعد ظهر يوم السبت الموافق 24 مايو في كنيسة القديس يوحنا. حدث لكل الأعمار من النساء التعابى، اللاتي يرغبن في فهم لماذا نحتاج إلى العجن في مشوار حياتنا اليومي؟

 ٦.  إرشادات عن ركن السيارات

يُرجى الانتباه إلى الإرشادات التالية عند ركن سيارتك ومراعاة الجيران

تجنب ركن السيارات بجوار مداخل المنازل أو بجانب زوايا الشارع: تأكد دائماً من عدم سد أي مداخل/مخارج المنازل والامتناع عن الركن بالقرب من زوايا الشارع حيث يتم حجب الرؤية لغيرك من سائقي السيارات والمشاة.

الوصول والمغادرة الهادئة: يُرجى التزام الهدوء على قدر الإمكان عند الوصول إلى الكنيسة وعند مغادرتها. سيساعد هذا الحرص على الاحتفاظ بهدوء وسلام منطقتنا.

عدم الركن في  Broe Avenue: يُرجى الحرص على عدم ركن السيارات في Broe Avenue مما يسبب اختناق مروري وهو أمر خطير.

احترام الأماكن المحجوزة الخاصة بالجيران. قد يضع بعض الجيران صناديق القمامة أو غيرها لحجز أماكن لسياراتهم. ينبغي احترام احتياجاتهم ورغباتهم، يرجى عدم تحريك هذه العلامات وعدم الركن في الأماكن المحجوزة.
