Contemplation (verse 33)
David lamented the death of Absalom, because of the wretched state in which he died: and therefore would have been glad to have saved his life, even by dying for him. In which he was a figure of Christ weeping, praying and dying for his rebellious children, and even for them that crucified him

Personal Reflection
King David mourns and exclaims that he would have rather died in Absalom’s place. How often do we reflect a father’s love knowing that our heavenly father Jesus died in place for our sins?

Bible Knowledge Question
Who kills Absalom despite King David’s command to spare him?

Prayer
Dear Lord, allow us to understand the depth of Your love for us, so much that You died in our place
