Contemplation (verse 1-6)
In humility and contrition of heart, David presented his request saying: 144 “For why should your servant dwell in the royal city with you?” (1 Samuel 27: 5) The king responded to his request, and gave him ‘Ziklag’ to live in it with his men.

Personal Reflection
There is a lot to learn from the way that David made his request to the king of Gath. He asked in humility and contrition of heart, and that made him find favour with the king. We can do the same with others, and approach God with humility too

Bible Knowledge Question
Where did David go to flee from Saul in Chapter 27?

Prayer
Please Lord teach us how to approach You in humility. And please protect us as You did with David
