Contemplation (verses 5-10)
Adonijah attempted to take over the throne without the knowledge of his father David. He did not seek the counsel of God or His prophet Nathan. This teaches us that any plan made without seeking God’s guidance is bound to fail. We must always involve God in our decisions and trust in His timing. + Fr Tadros Malaty

Adonijah tried to make himself king without asking god or following god’s way – have i ever tried to take control of something in my life without praying or asking god first
