Contemplation (verse 17)
These three there are, and you can find nothing whereby human cupidity (greed for money or possessions) can be tempted, but either by the lust of the flesh, or the lust of the eyes, or the pride of life. By these three was the Lord tempted by the devil. Matthew 4:1-10 (+ Augustine of Hippo)

Personal Reflection: Every human battles with the lust of flesh, eyes and pride of life. This may vary depending on the stage of life each person is experiencing. Which one is your battle and how do you fight against it?

Prayer: Dear Lord, help us to keep our eyes focused on building our kingdom in heaven for our eternal life rather than focusing on earthly possessions and matters that will pass away
