Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Yacoub:

Puzzle: on the 25th of Feb, St Mark church will offer a lovely gift to our Lord Jesus. Then Jesus will return the gift by offering many gifts over 40 days.

2. Voting for Mr. Anthony (Johnny) Sharkawy as a candidate for Priesthood

That will take place this Sunday 5th of Feb after masses. Please participate in the voting.

Please find the attached document from St Mark Church Council with candidate profile.

3. Low Sensory Liturgy – 5pm, Friday 3 February
For Children and their families who would benefit from a quieter liturgy.
In St Wanas Church with low light, no microphone, soft cymbals and less crowds.

4. During Jonah’s Fasting 3 daily masses:
5-7am
8:30-10am
1-2:30pm.
A blessed Jonah’s fasting to all, starting this Monday 6th February for 3 days.

5. Church Cleaning Day (We need Your Help!)

 

First cleaning day of the year – lots of work to be done so please join even an hour will make the biggest difference.. fix as you see possible.

6. St John’s Coptic Orthodox Church

An update on the newly acquired Church in South Hurstville (St John’s Coptic Orthodox Church)
Settlement is fast approaching on February 15. Thanks to God, 80% of the purchase price has been raised. We need your help to raise the remaining amount. Donations are Tax deductible with bank details on the attached poster. Be part of bringing a new parish to life to serve current and future generations.

7. P&F Committee

Dear parents,

We will be creating a P&F committee for all Sunday School years facilitated by the St Mark Families Fellowship. This is an exciting role for volunteer parents who will serve as a liaison between the Sunday school servants, Families Fellowship servants, and the parents of the class.

The Class Parent serves to strengthen the bond with Christ through the Church and the families in their child’s year group and helps foster a sense of community within the year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a community spirit & encourage families bonding

• Represent and communicate with families in their child’s year group including attending any needed meetings

• Suggest and coordinate spiritual & social events for families of Sunday school for their child year group.

• Welcome new families in the year group Pls email us if you’re interested to volunteer with your Full name, Child’s name and school year.

8. Summer reading competition

Attention all K-6 readers!

Drop into the library to pick up the summer reading competition. It comprises of a quiz and Christmas bookmark design/colouring, to be completed in the holidays and returned to the library by 15 February.

Exciting prizes to be awarded in March so make sure to complete your quiz and submit before the deadline. Please see attached files (check the bottom of the email) that can be downloaded and printed at home.

10. Bereavement announcement

Christ is risen.

Beloved father Eng. Sawieres Helmy Farah has departed to the Heavenly Father on 31/1/2023 in Egypt.
He is the beloved husband of Camilia Sobhy and the dear father to Dr Beshoy Farah in Australia; Mary and Joseph Sawieres in Egypt; and Caroline Sawieres in Kuwait.
Father-in-law of Dr Evelyne Farah, Dr Ashraf Nashaat, Christine Ghabbour and Usama Salah.
Dearest grandfather to Mark and John Farah; Merolla and Samuel Ashraf; Youssef and Tia Usama.

May God repose his soul in the paradise of joy and give comfort to all the family in Australia and overseas. Please pray for the family.

The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday 5th of February from 1.00-2.30 pm at St Mark Coptic Orthodox Church hall.

اول تنظيف للكنيسة لهذا العام- الكثير من العمل، من فضلك انظم إلينا حتى لو لساعة واحدة وبالتأكيد ستعمل فرق كبير، اعمل ما هو في مقدرتك.

تحديث عن الكنيسة التي تم شراءها حديثًا في ساوث هيرستفيل (كنيسة القديس يوحنا القبطية الأرثوذكسية)

يقترب وبسرعة موعد التسديد، سيتم يوم ١٥ فبراير. نشكر الله، تم جمع ٨٠٪ من سعر الشراء. نحتاج إلى مساعدتكم لجمع المبلغ المتبقي. التبرعات معفاة من الضرائب، التفاصيل المصرفية على البوستر المرفق. كن جزءًا من إقامة كنيسة جديدة لخدمة الأجيال الحالية والمستقبلية.

لجنة P&F

أولياء الأمور الأعزاء، سنقوم بعمل لجنة P&F لجميع سنوات مدارس الأحد بتيسير من خدمة المودة العائلية بكنيسة القديس مار مرقس. يتشوق الآباء المتطوعين للقيام بهذا الدور حيث سيخدمون كحلقة وصل بين خدام مدارس الأحد وخدام المودة العائلية وأولياء أمور طلبة الفصل. سيقوم ولي الأمر المسؤول عن الفصل بتقوية العلاقة مع السيد المسيح من خلال الكنيسة والعائلات في المجموعة العمرية التي تنتسب لها أطفالهم وسيساعد على تعزيز الشعور بالانتماء للمجتمع خلال العام. المسؤوليات الرئيسية: • تطوير روح المجتمع وتشجيع الترابط بين العائلات

• التمثيل والتواصل مع العائلات في المجموعة العمرية لأطفالهم بما في ذلك حضور أي اجتماعات مطلوبة

• اقتراح المناسبات الروحية والاجتماعية لعائلات مدارس الأحد لمجموعة العمرية التي ينتسب لها أطفالهم وتنسيقها

• الترحيب بالعائلات الجديدة في تلك المجموعة العمرية.

– مسابقة القراءة الصيفية

تنويه إلى جميع القراء من سن حضانة حتى الصف السادس!

اذهب إلى المكتبة للمشاركة في مسابقة القراءة الصيفية. وهي تتألف من بعض الأسئلة وتصميم / تلوين ل”بوك مارك” عن عيد الميلاد، ليتم الانتهاء منها في الاجازة الصيفية وإعادتها إلى المكتبة بموعد أقصاه ١٥ فبراير.

سيتم منح جوائز رائعة في شهر مارس، لذا تأكد من إكمال الأسئلة وإرسالها قبل الموعد النهائي. يرجى الاطلاع على الملفات المرفقة لطبعها
