Queen Esther
Claim to fame: Esther became the Jewish wife of the Persian king Ahasuerus. She and her cousin Mordecai persuade the king to retract an order for the annihilation of Jews throughout the empire and saved her people from persecution.
Quote: ‘The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.’ Esther 2:17
Fun fact: The book of Esther in the Bible is unique in that God is not mentioned once yet you can see the way He works in the lives of the characters.
