Description

And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” Luke 22:43

Each year on Good Friday, the thief who was crucified on the Lord’s right hand is praised by our Church for his declaration of faith, delivered in the last few breaths of his life. He has provided enormous comfort and hope to all of us in the mercy and forgiveness of the Lord, right up until our final moments in this earthly life. Indeed, we declare this criminal to be ‘blessed’, because by one phrase that he uttered to the Lord, he was sent to Paradise.

Amazingly, although mentioned in all four of the Gospels, he is never identified by name! Perhaps this is so that we can each insert our names in the place of this blessed thief; that we too may have confidence that the Lord will accept our repentance. We too may have hope that we will hear the sweet voice declaring that we will be with Him in Paradise.

We pray that this book may touch the hearts of those who read it, and that we may all be worthy to one day hear the tender voice crying out to us, “Today You will be with Me in Paradise”.
